Butt Veils?!

Delisa, on October 20, 2015 at 11:21 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 23

I was reading Cosmo Snapchat the other day and apparently there is a new "butt veil" trend. Although I think tail or cape is a better term. What are you thoughts on the dresses? I already have my own dress with no butt veil picked out, they are just not for me. The designer is Claire Pettibone.

    Ffffffffffffff5555555555555555555

I feel like I have an idea of what it is (gathered/rouged fabric at the tail one that falls open) but I'm not sure!!!

    couldn't wait. I googled.

And now I'm sad. The pom pom things?

They seem to work with that dress. Looks kinda like a removable train without having something on your head. Wouldn't match my dress though and seems like a bit much to me

    Ehhhhhhhhhhh.

the whole over skirt thing doesn't do it for me... in any way- butt veil/cape or any form. I just don't care for it. It looks awkward to me.

Googled it. Looks like she got her veil caught on her dress and is trying to make it work. No thanks - give me the standard train.

Haha, I thought this would be about novelty bridal underwear with built in veils (and yes, those exist)

The cape veil on the last one reminds me of the Alfred Angelo bridal gown for Elsa from Frozen.

Weird. Seems more like an awkward train than a veil to me.

Thinking about it, it actually reminds me of Princess Diana's wedding dress. It was on display at a local museum a couple of years ago, and seeing it in person I realized that it didn't have a true train. In person, it actually looks like a floor length dress where someone attached a bolt of fabric to the waist and rolled out then said, here's a train! Quite weird. This is a bad picture, but it somewhat shows that the train wasn't really attached.

Haha like Bethie's example, that's the only time I've seen a butt veil. For a bachelorette party on a boat or a beach somewhere.
