Bustle without Buttons?

Kasia, on March 29, 2019 at 4:32 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 14
I hate buttons. I think they are an eyesore and to top it off, I said yes to a simple dress. I love the American bustle but is there a way to not attach a button that will ruin the look of my train but still have a bustle?

I want to have a bustle where the flare starts.

You might be best off with a French bustle if you don't want to ruin the beautiful clean lines of your dress.

The other option would be teeny hooks and thread loops, but they might not be as strong as the traditional buttons.

This style of dress might also be good for a wrist bustle but those are pretty uncommon these days and might get kind of annoying.

Your seamstress might have some good ideas on how to bustle it without adding buttons, trust the pros! My friend just had a dress that was done with a pleated bustle that her seamstress created due to the uniqueness of the dress.

Talk to your seamstress. Mine is able to hide the buttons on my dress. You could also look at doing an under bustle which might get closer to the look your going for. https://www.brides.com/story/wedding-dress-bustle-styles

Trainloop is an interesting idea, basically a single point bustle you pin on. Thb, I'm skeptical on it holding the whole night....I would definitely test it out well before your wedding day

Try a "bubble" bustle. There are ties under the dress, much like a fench bustle. here's mine:

I’m in a similar predicament with my dress. Just wondering - did you find a solution without buttons?!?!

I did!!!! My alterations lady added these tiny hooks (the kind on your bra but in white) inside the seams of the train and little loops down the seams. You could barely tell plus I had the veil on a lot which covered it! I had three point on mine! this is the only photo I have because it was so invisible in all my wedding photos.
