Bustle or No Bustle

Kylee, on June 2, 2017 at 12:12 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 27

I am torn on whether or not to bustle my dress. It is a sweep train, so the train is pretty short. My seamstress said I could go without one, since the dress will end up getting dirty whether it is bustled or not. I can move around just fine without the bustle, the sweep train isn't in the way. Just wondering everyone's thoughts, what are you doing?

I would still bustle it, if only because people stepping on your dress will get freaking annoying. Especially if you plan on dancing.

I agree on bustling it. You don't want anyone stepping on it or trip over it.

Teambustle I would be terrified that someone would step on it, I wouldn't realise it, and I would tear my dress.

Like PPs said, bustle because it might get stepped on during dinner or on the dance floor.

It'll definitely get stepped on if you don't bustle it.

I would bustle it. I had the same type of train on my dress and the seamstress was trying to talk me into leaving it because I needed to look more like a "bride." wth. Every time I stepped back or to the side I would step on it. I couldn't imagine dancing in it. I had her shorten it pretty severely. It's only about 3 inches longer in the back now than the front. Oh, and it still looks like a wedding dress Smiley smile

BUSTLE! Even with my bustle, people somehow managed to step on my dress lol. I can't imagine what it would have been like without.

A bustle is helpful even with a sweep train Smiley smile My dress has a chapel train so I am definitely going the bustle route

I would bustle it anyway. I can just picture someone stepping on it and ripping it or something...

As PP have said, bustle so people don't step on it. It isn't a long train, but it WILL get stepped on if you don't bustle it.

Definitely bustle it, but I wouldn't go with the bustle you have a picture of. It looks kinda off.

Bustle. Might ask if they have any alternative bustle other than the ones they showed you. I know its common to bustle at top of the butt but I like mine lower so as not to distract from the dress. (Or make it look like I have a huge poofy butt.)

Thank you all for the advice! I think I will bustle it and maybe ask the seamstress for a different kind of bustle so it isn't so noticeable Smiley smile
