So I picked up my dress a couple of weeks ago. Everything was correct as far as measurements go, however when I tried it on, it was TIGHT around my hips (I'm blessed with what you would call a "squat booty"). Because it is so tight, there's a lot of bunching in my hips, and it's making me really self conscious. The lady at the bridal shop said it looked perfect on me and I don't need to make a single alteration aside from a bustle. Some friends who I have shown this picture to have said the same and that "I'm crazy" for thinking otherwise. However, every time I look at this picture, my eyes are immediately drawn to my hip area and not any of the intricate detailing. Ugh. I know this is common with mermaids but I feel like mine is very noticeable. Can a seamstress "let it out" so that the dress fits a little more on the sides or will that ruin the dress? Will spanx make it look smoother?
