Hey guys! Just wondering if I should assign someone to release tables for the buffet or just announce that the buffet is open? For reference, we plan to have around 150 guests. Thanks!

Typically, the DJ releases tables for the buffet. If you don't have a DJ, you definitely want someone releasing tables. Otherwise, it's going to be a mad dash to get into line and will ultimately end up taking longer for everyone to make it through.

Definitely have dj or catering staff. That would be a nightmare for 150 people.

Your DOC or the DJ can do this. We had a smaller crowd so everyone went up at once but with your guest count, I would do it by tables so there isn't a huge line of people standing and waiting.

By tables, so people dining together start their meals together, as well as faster and more orderly service.
