Buffet style reception dinner

Servers - we did not have them and I kinda wished we had. Reason? Our food was a lunch buffet of pulled pork and yummy 4 cheese mac and cheese(among other things) The pulled pork was to be two sliders per person. Our wedding day was a bit cooler than normal, so people were PILING up on food n(comfort food!), like seriously the plates were higher than wide. The staff knew what was happening and immediately got another batch of food going. We has no problem paying for more food (our guest count was 42) but it was like whoa Nelly....slow your roll!! LOL!

Thanks ladies! We are going to go with servers. Hubby and I both agree it will be a lot less stressful. And I have a few friends and family who are willing to take time from being a guest at the reception to serve food.

Every time I've been to a buffet with servers, I've had to argue with them to not put stuff on my plate. They go on auto-pilot sometimes and just assume everyone wants everything with the result that there's a lot of wasted food. I prefer a self-serve, but they could have people monitoring the lines to make sure there's plenty.
