I was discussing this with a friend and she said she has been to weddings where they have the place settings set up and when the DJ calls up each table he gives them a reminder to take their plates with them, she couldn't remember exact wording but said it was done nicely that she didn't event think about it again. I'm not sure if this is tacky or not, I've never heard of this. But would really love the look of an actual place setting instead of a paper doily. I'm still trying to figure out what would be cheaper, I haven't chosen everything i'd be using yet so I'm not sure what is more cost efficient.

Need ideas, anyone ever heard of this? What are you doing if you're having a buffet style dinner?

@soontobeJB thanks :-) If you're getting the food, you could pre-set the salad.... It would be an extra plate, but if you're doing disposables that might not add a lot of cost.

We are going to have the place settings on the table then they can carry their plates with them. I don't see anything wrong with- I've done it at plenty of weddings and didnt give it a second thought.
