You just have to set your budget as what you can afford. Our answers won't really help you.
We don't really have a budget. It's looking as though we will be spending around $80-$90k. This is absolutely nuts to me, but my fiancée has a massive family and our guestlist is at 285 right now. His parents are paying for a band and for their entire guestlist and my fiancée's friends/our mutual friends (which is about 210 of the guests). My parents paid for their guests (55). My fiancée and I are paying for my friends (20) and then everything else: photographer, dress, florals, etc. So, my fiancée and I will be personally spending around $20k- which i think is reasonable and probably what I would have wanted to spend TOTAL had we had a smaller wedding and no help from family. I am grateful for the help we are receiving: it was completely unexpected and we had already been saving money assuming we would be paying the entire wedding ourselves. Now, we get to keep our savings for our future home.

Thank you Ariel! I’ll post some pics after the wedding haha!
We are staying at One and Only Reethi Rah! We wanted a resort that was not too far from the airport (boat ride instead of a sea plane ride) because we are only there for four nights.
How about you? Where are you staying and what are you looking forward to most?
Girllllll same here. We are staying at Oblu at Sengeli which is about 30 miles away from Male so speed boat for us. We are staying for 5 nights and I am honestly about to tack on more nights lol. Over a week staying at an all inclusive over water bungalow, I'll up my budget for that.
Honestly, besides marrying the love of my life, I am looking forward to being surrounded by love. Partying the night away as our families become one. Just epic.
All-inclusive is the dreeaaam!!! No need to worry about anything! Just relax, enjoy and EAT!!! It's a once-in-a-lifetime trip and you will be on a high from the wedding! I might be looking forward to the honeymoon more than the wedding LOL! Because it will be just us two.
We don't really have a set budget, I guess we're just trying to stay under $20k... we're paying everything ourselves and i made our save the dates and invitations and decor
Will largely depend on our guest count (likely somewhere in the 75 range, but we are doing a DW) but we are probably going to end in the 30-35k range.

We did not set a budget initially. We did our guest list first. Once we finished our guest list we discussed what we both wanted in a wedding and started looking at venues that fit our wedding vision and our guest count. Both sets of our parents are helping us pay for our wedding. We will keep it under 35k including our honeymoon and rings. The largest portion of our budget was catering, we wanted to ensure that our guests who are spending the time and money to come to our wedding have a good time. I know one of you was dragging those of us who chose to have a large and "expensive" wedding but I just want to let that now wife know that we would never spend less on our wedding than our guests will be paying to attend. Additionally, I have known couples who dated for years, got married at a courthouse and got divorced, your entire argument is out the window with that one. Good luck and please stop judging.
My fiancé and I will be getting married in pigeon forge, Tennessee with 70-75 guests. My budget was originally 10k. Unfortunately, vendor costs add up very quickly! I didn’t realize how much photographers, videographers and DJs charged for their services; even catering companies tack on additional fees such as service charges/ taxes that jack up the total cost as well. With that being said, after our vendors are taken into consideration we are spending 18k without adding in my dress, his attire, and rings.
The vendors we spent the most money on was the photographer and videographer, which was a little over 5k. If you spend your money on anything, I would put it into the photographer and videographer, if you chose to have one. These will be memories you will have for a lifetime and I definitely believe in the saying “you get what you pay for”. A lot of photographers will charge you a lower cost initially but in the end they’ll hold the rights to your photos and charge extra for every little thing. Definitely read all contracts completely and ask TONS of questions.
hope this helped a bit, best of luck with your wedding planning!!

My fiancé and I agreed to 5000,. So whatever can be DIY’d we’ll be doing. My dress will not go over 200 even if I have to get it second hand it’s only for one day. My venue had to be changed from the one I wanted because this new place provides more while the one I wanted only provided the room. I found it is cheaper on a Friday by 500 so I had to let go of my Saturday vision. But it may help to cut the guest list since people may not take off work. They provide linens tables chairs clean up bus boy and bartender. I just have to do food and drinks and diy centerpieces. So just set a number you and FH are comfortable with and fit your dream wedding into it. Cut cost where you can.
It’s going to depend on where you live and how many guests. You set the budget that you can afford and it doesn’t really matter what other people spend. We will probably end up around 25,000, not including my engagement ring, band or the honeymoon. We will invite 150ish and live in the Chicago suburbs.
2500k we live in the wonderful state of Colorado which happens to have ample venues “mountains” plus we have a small venue, vegetarian and don’t drink! That cuts the budget tremendously Best wishes💗
