We are paying for everything ourselves. We share our finances, so nothing wedding related is split between the two of us, it's all paid together.

H and I payed for everything ourselves. A few weeks before the wedding my parents gave us a cash gift of $500 that we used to pay off the cake balance but it wasn’t given to us to be used as wedding money- it was a birthday present that I just used that way.

We opened a joint savings and had a portion of our pay checks deposit for the wedding each week. My parents gave us money to pay towards the venue. His mom has been helping when she can on the honeymoon and helped us pay it off. Majority of the wedding decorations came from my pocket and I would just tell my FH what I needed him to buy to help me. The big vendors we would use money from our savings for deposits and final payments since we get married in December. I didn't really tell FH about cost since I would try to get deals lol I just told him after I used this amount or bought this with the savings or book someone. Just keep communication open with your family and let them express their opinion since they are helping. We even sold items that we never used to help cover some cost of the wedding. Good luck

FH is taking over all household related things and I’m covering the venue. We are splitting the honeymoon and my future cousin in law is paying for the DJ. Future in laws are also supporting the honeymoon fund and my parents are also supporting financially in many other areas.
