Budget Worries....but not really

Monique, on August 23, 2019 at 12:28 AM Posted in Planning 0 24
Does anyone else ever get the “oh my gosh we are not going to make it out on top” feeling with their wedding budget? I always have this little panic moment before realizing most stuff we made our original budget with is already paid and set to go. Due to that we are still totally on track. I’m just always so paranoid about it I feel like.

Yeah, I worried a lot about that. One of the issues was that in many instances, we decided that buying stuff and then reselling it afterward was less expensive than renting. But of course, that involved some guesses about a) how easily things would sell, and b) how much we could get for them. As it turned out, we came in just under budget. But it was a bit hair raising.

We're 29days out and even though we are eloping, it's a destination elopement and I have been feeling this way with all the little last minute things we still do to do. I'm really excited though and know realistically we got this!

I'm such a planner (my wedding excel spreadsheet is insane) and I'm still super stressed. in the back of my head I know I'm missing things that are going to heavily inflate the cost. I pray that I'm wrong.

Yes. I was getting a bit stress out over the last few weeks, that my FH talked about it, and decided to pay off everything that was owed (well almost everything, we don't have the final count for the venue, but we paid the minimum) from our savings, and we are now working on rebuilding our savings up again.

I'm using Excel to plan my wedding as well. If you go into Microsoft word and type in wedding lists in the templates it will give you a bunch of check lists that you can go through to make sure you aren't forgetting abything

Seriously so stressed about it right now! Wedding is December 14th and not all of our big stuff is paid for yet. I’m hoping to have all the big things paid by the end of september and then it will just be little things but omg I’m so stressed it’s not even funny.

I just feel this way because even if we’re having a budget wedding, both of our families have either eloped or had a budget-extreme wedding and we feel so uncomfortable spending so much money! But at the end of the day contracts are signed, vendors are paid. What can you do? We’re just trying not to freak out about it at this point.

I'm right there with you girl!! I hate Excel, mostly because I have such a hard time with it!! Maybe it's more accurate to say that Excel hates me! lol

Writing it out just works for me. But I am so paranoid, I use a pencil. No pens, because that could get messy.

But to answer the OPs question, yes, I'm constantly worried about the budget, and not having enough money to cover everything. Even though I've planned it out to come out ok, I can't help worrying. Only 9 more months. Hopefully my head won't explode before then!
