Budget- anything i missed?

Bailee, on October 29, 2020 at 11:40 PM Posted in Planning 0 8
Below, are the quotes I have received from all of my favorite vendors. (Like this is my dream wedding). Is there anything that I missed that I need to budget for? The rings will have already been paid for and my attire includes the dress, veil, headpiece, and all other accessories included. I’m also buying gifts way before the wedding so I’m not counting those in there as well. I know my limits on what to spend for those. I was thinking of doing Hershey kisses as favors but until I get a final guest list, I won’t know how much it will cost. The catering is an estimate for about roughly 160 people and that’s including vendors of course. Should I have a separate tip row for each of the vendors or one big column?
Thanks all!

Wow, looks great! Those prices seem extremely cheap, too!!! Cake $48?! Hair and make up $250?! We spent about $750 on tips. So not terrible.

Skip favors. How much is your officiant and marriage license? You don't need to tell us..but it wasn't included. Is your caterer providing all napkins, plates, silverware, glasses? Does your venue provide all rentals including table cloths? Does your florist provide vases? Are you having a dj? Does your hair/makeup cover just you, including trials for both? Don't forget thank you notes.

Wait until after you get back from your honeymoon to tip your vendors. At that time, you will have a more objective mindset to analyze how everyone performed. Only tip those who above and beyond and send them to respective vendors at that time with thank you notes and don't forget to review them on Yelp etc.

Thank you!! I have been really trying to research the best places in my town but without diminishing the quality! The original venue I wanted was $4500 and included a nights stay for 40 people and allowed alcohol. They have the same look but those are the only difference! Alcohol isn’t an issue because the majority of our families are LDS and if we wanted to, we could have an after party! Im doing a smaller cheesecake (my favorite) and a standard red velvet cake (FHs favorite) from either Walmart or a local bakery here in town! The price for hair and makeup is only for me as of right now. This also doesn’t include my engagement hair/makeup or my bridals hair/makeup so in reality it will most likely go up. I’m just debating on number of bridesmaids, not sure if I want to include SILs or have them help out in a different way because I don’t think I can afford all of them... (I’m leaning towards having a smaller bridal party at the moment). I think I’ll use Covid as an excuse for lots of things!

My marriage license is $35. It could be lower if I take a class at my university though! Our officiant, will be one of our closest friends, so no fee there, but we will be giving him a gift. My caterer does provide those things! Our venue does have rentals but for extra fees. Our families have things that we can use as he is the last of his family to get married. My neighborhood is also being very generous in lending us items. Does not provide vases, but again, our neighbors/families have those. I am not 100% sure about having a dj. I know my musician will be there at least until 45 minutes after the first dances. My brother is very good at emceeing and offered to be in charge after the musician leaves. That was my plan so far. And he does have professional equipment. Right now, the hair/makeup includes just myself. I’m not including the trial pricing, just because I’m not 100% of how much that would cost yet but it should roughly be about the same. I am also not sure about thank you notes. I have the option to order thank you notes from the painter for roughly $150 so I am not sure if I want to do that or not. I have a list of various things that I want to make sure I know that is the price before I plug it in Smiley smile. That makes sense, thank you!!

That still seems very cheap for cake. Great if you could find it though!

Does the venue come with tables and chairs?

Are you doing save the dates as well as invites? Is postage included in that? We spent about $200 just on the STDs.

The catering seems very inexpensive for that many people.

It’s a smaller cheesecake and a smaller one tier red velvet grooms cake. (My sister is making them)

It comes with tables and chairs! I could upgrade if I want but they only have 100 nicer chairs and I would need more. If I did save the dates, I’m leaning towards doing them ourselves! Postage hasn’t been factored in just yet as I’m wanting to finalize the guest list first. It comes to be about $14 per person, it’s a local bbq place that will be doing the catering! They get their choice of either pork, brisket, or chicken and two sides (drinks as well).
