Broke my ankle with 11 weeks to go... Ugh!

Can't believe my luck on this one. I slipped on Friday the 13th, and broke my tib/fib in my ankle. Had surgery yesterday, and all went very well and I'm finally on the road to recovery. I should be walking about 2 weeks before the wedding, and will be in a boot for the big day, which I'm not...

I should be walking about 2 weeks before the wedding, and will be in a boot for the big day, which I'm not thrilled about but it could certainly be worse. I am bummed this ruined my gym/weight loss plan.

I'm doing my best to look on the bright side with it all, but it does feel good to vent!

So sorry to hear that! Sounds like you have a good attitude and are making the best of it though. One day it will make a good wedding story? It would be nice if they make a white boot to wear under your dress, or maybe you could wrap the one you have. If that is how it goes, sometimes you just have to keep a good sense of humor and decorate. You and your friends could probably come up with some interesting ideas while you recover. Heal well!

Oh no!! This exact thing happened to my Aunt. She had to wear a boot. She just told her Photographer to crop it out of pics. You couldn't even tell to be honest with her long dress.

@Ashley - I'm 28. I think what the doctor said was they'd be permanent, so I will just have a robot ankle from now on. I have a post-op appointment in a week so I'm sure they'll give me a little more clarity then.

I think I'll try to find a way to get a white boot, or wrap it in something light colored so at least it doesn't show in ALL the pics. But we've already got plans to decorate it and have fun with it.

I ditched the crutches as fast as I could for a knee scooter. SO much easier to get around. FH also ordered me an arm bike that should get here next week, so at least I can buff up my arms a bit Smiley winking
