1: Whose traveled with their wedding gown or suit on an airplane?

2: Was there an extra charge for this item (s)?
3: Was there a specific place on the plane to put this item (s)?

From what I’ve heard it depends on the airline. I’m planning to travel with my dress on Southwest which I hear doesn’t have closets (I’ve never noticed before). It will depend on having a flight attendant willing to help find a place onboard... which worries me.

Tulle is probably the best fabric for travel as it doesn’t crease and wrinkle as readily as satin does. I’m sure an attendant will be willing to help. I’d try and call ahead and see if you can get some more definitive information as to how they can accommodate you.

I flew Hawaiian and brought my dress with me. I had it in one of these bags which I folded in 1/3 and carried around the airport as one of my personal bags. There are straps inside that keep the dress from tossing around, and I placed it on top of our carry on in the overhead bin.

Hi Andrea! My dress is a ball gown too big to fold. I called the airlines and they have a place on the plane for them.

    Thank you!

Mine’s almost ballgown (technically an a-like but very full). I also will be getting a skirt for under that I’m guessing/hoping can be packed in a suitcase.
Which airline was it? Did they say where they could put it?

I don't want mine packed in a suitcase, but that's just me😏 I am flying with Spirit and they told me they can hang it underneath the plane. This is my first time flying...

Oh not the dress, just the underskirt maybe (I forget what it’s called)!
Hmm that sounds like you won’t have access to it. I’m concerned as I want it in the interior of the plane where I can access it/know where it is. Even thinking of buying an extra seat if that’s what it comes to & they’ll allow me.

I'm not too worried. It's in a bag and hanging, they will attach all my info with it they said
