Bringing your Wedding Dress and Suit on an Airplane

From what I’ve heard it depends on the airline. I’m planning to travel with my dress on Southwest which I hear doesn’t have closets (I’ve never noticed before). It will depend on having a flight attendant willing to help find a place onboard... which worries me.

Tulle is probably the best fabric for travel as it doesn’t crease and wrinkle as readily as satin does. I’m sure an attendant will be willing to help. I’d try and call ahead and see if you can get some more definitive information as to how they can accommodate you.

I’m in the same boat. Which airline did you talk to?

I flew Hawaiian and brought my dress with me. I had it in one of these bags which I folded in 1/3 and carried around the airport as one of my personal bags. There are straps inside that keep the dress from tossing around, and I placed it on top of our carry on in the overhead bin.

Hmm that sounds like you won’t have access to it. I’m concerned as I want it in the interior of the plane where I can access it/know where it is. Even thinking of buying an extra seat if that’s what it comes to & they’ll allow me.
