Bridesmaids

How do I get everyone to agree on a place to buy their dress? I'm sure that they won't argue if I just pick one, but I want my friends to be happy with their dresses.

I'm not asking that they all wear the same dress, they don't have to be the same fabric or style, the ONLY thing that I'm asking of my girls is that they are all wearing the same color. By this I mean the same shade of blush or petal or light pink or whatever the store wants to call it.

I feel like this isn't a lot to ask considering the leniency I'm giving, and all the places I've looked at online and in-store have a different idea of what blush or light pink is that I'm looking for. So I told them to decide on how much they wanted to spend (I only recommended to them sites and stores that had dresses for $150 or less, and I'll help whoever I can that can't pay), and to make sure that they have sizes available from 0-30 (also only suggested options to them that do this as well since my smallest is an XS and my biggest is a 4X), and then we would go form there.

The issue is that I've suggested multiple places so far and showed them photos of all the "blush" dresses from each that I like that I think would go really well together in the photos even though they won't all look the same as far as style. So basically they have about 30+ different styles to choose from (again, I really don't think I'm limiting them very much) unless they actually want to spend more on another dress they want that I didn't see because I was looking for <150. But the 30 different styles are a mix from different places so of course the shades of blush don't match.

This is where my question comes in on whether or not I should ask them to shop at 1 place? And should I get a swatch for each of them of the color I want them to be in? Did I just go about it all wrong telling them they could go shop on their own? Or am I asking way too much that they be in the same shade even though I'm freeing them up on literally everything else about their dresses??

I hope this makes sense, I'm terrible at explaining things online. But please help or share with me how you had your BMs shop for dresses!

I’m having my girls order from azazie. It’s really good. If you let them order from different stores they won’t be the same shade, so I would just pick one.

My girls all bought theirs from David's. I picked the color and length, and they picked their own dresses! I have 2 bridesmaids that don't live close, so it was easy because they could go to the David's Bridal where they live

David's Bridal. They can pick out dresses online, add them to their profile. They can go in with or without an appointment. Get measured. Try on all the styles and order in-store or online. Many of their bridesmaid dresses aren't over $150. Also shipping is super fast. They quote 6-8 weeks but all my girls got them in 2 weeks or less.

I would just go ahead and pick a store for them. Pick a place that has a lot of different styles in your color so that they'll find something they like no matter what! I'm doing Azazie for mine - I'm just specifying color, length, and fabric.

I had The same thought originally but found out after changing my mind to everyone wearing the same dress that my girls were relived to not have to worry about picking a dress to match my specifications. They were all stressing over making sure the dress was the right color to match and type that I would like. They were thinking more of me than they were themselves. This was surprising to me because I wanted them to be able to choose their dress maybe to use in future or whatever.

I just decided without consulting (I only consulted on budget). I picked a color, fabric, and length from Azazie. It left them with a little over 100 dress options from $89-$169. I left them plenty of time too, so they could take advantage of clearance dresses of the 10%-15% off sales Azazie has. They have an at home try on option too, for girls not sure on which dress they will order!

I would also recommend Azazie. That way they don't have to worry about matching a color swatch, but they have literally over 100 styles to choose from in a variety of prices from ~100-150. Just pick a color, length and fabric and they will all look good together no matter what they pick.

I envy you lol. I wanted to just put them all in the same dress and call it a day, but I changed my mind due to the lack of comfortability among the group because they're all so different in size. My larger girls don't want their arms showing too much so (short, flowy) sleeves work for them but my others don't want sleeves at all because it's a June wedding, a couple of them want to wear heels while others wouldn't survive in any heel over 1 inch high so I'm just gonna go with floor length and make sure all shoes are covered, and since a LOT of our guests are older and therefore very old-school, I also have to make sure that no one is up there with anything too revealing as per the request of my husband. It would be sO much easier to just be like "here's the dress. get it or don't."

I think this is what I'm gonna do with David's. They all seem interested in DB instead of online although I hear really great things about Azazie. Either way, as long as they like it and are comfortable in it then I don't mind where they get it as long as everything's the same color

I didn't even look anywhere other than Azazie. My girls wore the same color, length, and fabric. It was so easy and they all ordered within a month of each other. I wore an Azazie dress for a wedding I was in this April and it was a wonderful dress! Great quality and price. They had a cyber Monday sale in 2018 where the whole site was 20% off, which made it even more affordable. I never asked my girls where they wanted to buy their dress, I told them where to get it, the color I wanted, the fabric I wanted, and the length I wanted. The only thing I told them that they couldn't do was a strapless dress, but they could pick any other style. There is a range of styles and prices on Azazie's website, which made it easy for everyone to find something that worked for them.

Mine all have slightly different shades of maroon! All are the same length except for my matron of honor, who chose a high-low dress.

I made an appointment at David's, said it was an open invitation. I was stuck between 3 colors and I wanted my girls to have the final say. I told them if you can make it great, if you can't we'll make decisions without you and let you know.

I told my party that I was happy to pick a color, a fabric, and a store, and they could all pick their own style.

We all discussed the style of the wedding and the season, and then we all went to look at dresses together.

...Joke's on me, they all chose the same dress from David's! But that's because they all felt fabulous in it, and it was affordable, too.

Honestly? Offer to go looking with them, take notes and pictures, and then go from there.

But, yeah, they all do need to choose the same store, because then the dresses will be the same dyes.

    Azazie is a good one
But I think what's smart is when you go with those dresses that can be tied in many ways that make it different styles . You can easily get it at Amazon

Omg this is perfect! I think this is what I'm gonna have my girls do. I've heard so many great things about Azazie and they're cheaper than DB for my girls that are worried about spending too much more than $100. I also really appreciate that they're size range is so large! Thank you!

Yep, I told mine yesterday that their sizing is on them if they can't come to try on dresses with everyone else and get fitted, and that as long as they had the right color and length to just run it by me first and then get it on their own. I understand we all have different schedules and whatnot but I've been making it as easy as possible on everyone BUT myself thus far so I'm changing things up to work for me and trying not to feel bad about it

I love this! I would love for mine to all be in the same dress, but I know that some of them have completely different styles than others (there's 6 including my MoH) due to their age range from 19-24 and their different sizes. I'm thinking I'll go with them to get sized and pick a style for each of them and then we'll decide on where to actually get them from based on budgets and the shade I like best. I found that all the salons and sites I looked at offer extremely similar styles (some are even the same but in a different shade of the color I want), so if we decide on getting them from somewhere other than DB or wherever we go to try them on then I don't have to force them to change the style they want.

Omg yes I found some that are convertible and they just have 1 or 2 big sashes attached that you can just do whatever with and I loved them so much!
