Bridesmaids want Shake it Off as Grand Entrance Song

Private User, on August 2, 2016 at 8:05 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 11

My bridesmaids asked if we could play Taylor Swift's Shake it Off during the grand entrance. I don't hate or love that song but I can't seem to settle on any song.

Do you think it would be weird to play this song at our wedding?

Other options were:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eDwOFThiNnA - Get up offa that thing

As the grand entrance to the reception? I don't think that would be weird at all. As a bridesmaid, I've been allowed to choose any song that I like when entering the reception. It's supposed to be a fun-filled moment, right?

Thanks, ladies! I guess I felt iffy about it because FH asked "isn't that song about a break up?" lol. I know it's a fun song and the bridesmaids will enjoy it, too.

I think that's a really cute song & good for that moment. But if you want other suggestions, we are using Never Been In Love by Icona Pop/Cobra Starship!

You could have the DJ edit it so the break up parts aren't played

@beachbride - good idea! That's exactly what I plan to do.

@celia - I'm not a huge fan of this song but my bridesmaids are awesome and if they want this song played for 2-3 minutes I'm happy to do it. I do think it's a fun, up beat song.

Thanks again everyone, I didn't want to spend too much time worrying about what song to play as we enter the reception. Now, it's settled and I feel good about it!

One I am very much considering (thought it may not be popular next year) is Can't Stop The Feeling by Justin Timberlake Smiley smile its super fun and peppy, totally dance worthy.
