Hi guys! I'm getting married next year, but I'm trying to get all my bridesmaids gifts together. I want to get them some cute robes to wear while we get ready. I was wondering if y'all know of any good sites to order affordable robes. I know Etsy has some but I was hoping for some better deals....

Hi guys!

I'm getting married next year, but I'm trying to get all my bridesmaids gifts together. I want to get them some cute robes to wear while we get ready. I was wondering if y'all know of any good sites to order affordable robes. I know Etsy has some but I was hoping for some better deals. Please share if you know of any and feel free to share what kind of gifts you got for your bridesmaids!

What's I'm concluding from these replies is that you guys do not think I should get robes for my bridesmaids. Keep in mind it would not be the main gift for them, rather a part of a gift basket sort of thing. But I appreciate the feedback from those who have personally gotten them from weddings. Are there any gifts you received that you really enjoyed?

I got my robes from Kadlee.com. They were a good price and quality. Customer service was excellent.

Robe Mart was the cheapest I could find that would be reliable, meaning I wasn't waiting for them to ship from China. I bought 5 for $11.99 plus tax and shipping. They did a sale on Valentine's day this year where they were only $8.99, you should set a reminder in your calendar and start checking for sales the week of valentines day.

I got blush pink robes and they're opaque and long enough. Sometimes I worried the cheapy ones from China would be see through and too short.

Regarding "prop not a gift", I did treat mine as a prop and got my BMs other gifts, however, I've been in two weddings before and was really hoping to receive a robe but we didn't. So maybe I'm the weirdo that would've liked to receive one as a gift and wouldn't have thought of it as a prop.

@Megan (OP) I think a gift basket idea is great. And a robe being apart of that is fine, IMO. I would also include something personally unique for each girl. Something that says something about your friendship/relationship with each one maybe?

We aren't saying don't get them robes just don't try to pass it off as a gift. I'm giving my party flannels but I'm not saying it's a gift because it's not. It's use is to get ready for my wedding and the before pictures. Will they love it? Probably but it's main purpose is for my wedding so it's not an actual gift. I plan to get them each something personal that I know they will love.

Mel- I'm sorry but a $2.50 robe is going to be a piece of shit. If you wanted a $2.50 robe why didnt you just buy one?

I agree you can throw them in their box, with other non proppy things.

@megan yea I agree. I had planned on personalizing each one. Definitely putting pictures and such. I think my friends will enjoy it.

I bought my girls robes from the shop MilkRobe on Etsy. We used them for my Bridal Spa Day that my MOH hosted for me. We got a lot of attention at Glen Ivy, plus I think we looked cute. Now, I just use mine after I get out of the shower. They were about $15 each.

I personally love satin kimono robes for getting ready and i use the ones i've be given from being a bridesmaid to get ready at home. I definitely see it as a gift. HOWEVER if you put "bridesmaid" on the back it does become more of a prop

Back with an unpopular opinion... I was gifted a "cheap" Etsy robe for a wedding I was in last year and I wear it every. single. morning. when I get ready for work. So it's a "know your girls" type of thing. If you think they'll use it again, I say go for it, but avoid putting names/titles on them.

I was going to say, I have been given robes as my bridesmaid gift and I love them and wear them all the time... I agree with not embroidering them though. The "Bridesmaid" embroidery on the back is a little corny in my opinion, so I rarely wear that one. It's all up to you on your budget and what you find appropriate as a gift.

I think my SIL got ours at David's Bridal when they were on sale, so they were $15 or $20 each, so total $60-$80 for the four of us. Amazon is a good bet, but the ones she got had the belt attached permanently to the back and it's THE best one I've received. You never lose it, it doesn't fall off, etc.

I second the idea of getting them on EBay!

You know your BM's make sure their gifts are to their tastes. I plan on getting some cutesy-matchy stuff and some individual stuff.

Amazon, $15 a piece. Ironed on a monogram that cost me about $1 a person to make

    1. This escalated quickly. 2. True everyone has their own opinion. Don't let it bother you, you do what you want. Smiley smile 3. I, personally don't consider robes or any other cute out fit as a prop. Sure it's fun to take matching pictures and such, but it's also something that anyone should appreciate the gift no matter if they like it or not. I myself thought of robes, but I know it's been done all the time. Instead I chose a cute comfy shirt and sweat-capris. Will they all match, maybe maybe not. But I see it as a gift basket filler and as a set of clothes that my bridesmaid are more than welcome to get dirty. So they don't have to use any of their clothes or to rush around in something else before the wedding. I see a robe as a good idea because it's quick to get on and off without messing up hair or makeup and as something cute and comfy the girls will enjoy. So again, get what you would like because you know your friends best. No one else does. Smiley winking Good luck and I hope this helps! Smiley smile

Wow some of you are so rude. She just asked an opinion. Yes the robes are more so not much of a gift but still no reason to be so catty!
