Bridesmaids or not??

Elena, on July 8, 2019 at 11:50 AM Posted in Planning 0 11
So I have been thinking about not having any attendants at our wedding. I want a very romantic and intimate vibe with a heavy accent on family and I want attention on us and not on other people. I have people that I can have as bridesmaids so it’s not a question of not having anyone. For some reason this just seems to be throwing everyone off though. Is it too weird ??

I'm not having any attendants and it was one of the best decisions I have made in the wedding planning process. Much less to coordinate and worry about. My dad isn't happy about it. He doesn't understand how I could get married without having a MOH hold my bouquet Smiley xd Some people think its weird but I really don't think its a big deal.

I’m so glad I’m not the only one feeling this way!

No you definitely don't need attendants.

But during the ceremony you might want someone to hand your bouquet to and someone to fix your train for photos (usually a Maid of Honor task).

You also will need someone to hand you the rings and be the witness signature on your marriage license (usually a best man task).

My cousin got married without a bridal party and she just asked one of our other cousins to sit in the front row and take care of all those things.

Nope. Not weird. We had an intimate DW and opted for no wedding party. No regrets.

I don't think that's weird! Plus, there's less potential stress without a bridal party!

As everyone said, nope, not weird. Not even a little bit. Another benefit: you can save a lot of money by not having attendants (no need to buy them gifts, flowers, rehearsal dinner, day off breakfast and lunch, etc.).

It's totally fine to have no wedding party, it can keep things simple, save money, less for you to organize, etc.

Our best man originally wasn't going to have any. I did think it was odd just because personally I never been to a wedding where I saw that. But at the end of the day it really is just about you and your hubby so it's ok if there aren't people there with you
