For background the dresses were ordered online and can not be exchanged or returned. They were on clearance so limited sizing available also. BMs also weren’t able to try them on before so they didn’t know what they looked like on them till they received them. The bridesmaid in question asked the bride to pick a dress that could be either returned, exchanged or tried on BEFORE the dress that was picked was picked by the bride.
I would like to hear from BMs and Brides who have experienced this, what happened if anything.

I have never personally been in this position, but as a bride, I would NEVER pick a dress for my BMs without consulting them, let alone one that could not be returned or exchanged! This sounds horribly inconsiderate on the bride’s part.

How sad. I understand trying to save money, but being a tall gal, I understand how difficult it is finding clothes that fit. See if the dress can be altered and if not, tell your friend you love her and will be a guest at her wedding to wish her well.

As a bride, I wouldn't have gone that route for my bridesmaids if I had a specific vision in mind for them. Logically, the bride should have found a vendor where the BMs could either go in person to be measured or at least where they could be returned if they didn't fit when tried on at home.

I just picked a color at David's bridal and let my ladies pick whatever size/style dress they preferred, were comfortable with.

It sounds like the bride has no consideration for your feelings, and is only concerned about herself. I would never put my BMs in this situation. I did end up picking the dress I would like them to wear - two are out of state, and my color varies WAY too much by design at DB to go that route - but I chose a dress that is flowy and size inclusive. I am a plus size bride, so I totally understand needing a body positive dress. However, the dress I chose is also available at shops near my BMs, so they can go in, get fitted and at least get an idea of what the dress it. The fact that you clearly expressed your needs, and she ignored them and moved forward is downright insulting. If this were me, I would step down from the wedding party and attend as a guest. Yes, this is her day, but your feelings are 100% valid. Sorry to hear you are going through this.
