Bridesmaids Dress Color with Grey Wedding Dress

Hey everyone! We’re getting married in September 2020 and have a little dilemma. We were planning on having the bridesmaids in a light grey, and our flowers will be white & eucalyptus. I thought I’d end up with a white/ivory/blush gown, but I went dress shopping the other day and absolutely fell in love with a silver/platinum one. I worry that it’ll be too much grey, but I don’t want to compromise on my gown.

Any suggestions on other colors for the bridesmaids? I want them to be in a lighter color overall (no navy/burgundy/dark green) but worry that it’ll look too washed out if we’re all in shades of grey. Any other brides have a grey dress that can speak from experience or have photos to share?

You could do a very pale blue, some eucalyptus plants have a blue hint in them it'd bring out and look good. Blush is obviously a traditional color if you like warm colors. You could mix it up and do bridesmaids in ivory so you really stand out.

Lavender?? Olive green? Blush.. you could put them in ivory to really throw people off 😂

I totally understand. A steel or dusty blue would look really nice with your dress. I have a spare swatch from David's if you want it.

I agree with a nice steel or dusty blue. That will pull out the slight blueish hint in some eucalyptus.

Ah! I love the Galatea! I like the idea of a dusty blue, but what about a lavender? I think staying in the cool color family will be your best bet.

Thanks everyone! We wanted to avoid a lot of color so that’s why I’m hesitant to do blue/lavender even though the dusty blue is pretty. The wedding colors are super neutral - flowers are eucalyptus/greenery and various white flowers. The guys will be in white button downs, grey pants and brown leather suspenders. Hence why I’m struggling! I may just keep them in grey but make it lighter than my dress. Definitely don’t want them in white.

What about a light sage green? Or even light browns/tans? I know it sounds weird, but I've seen really some really gorgeous photos with those color schemes.

- Quartz- it’s a Dusty lilac colour, pairs well with accents of burgundy and grey.
- Chianti- a softer side of Wine/burgundy.
- Ballet Pink- name says it all. Soft elegant pink. Think ballet slippers. Classic combo
- A cadet, dusty blue
- Rose gold
- Soft coral/peach is a classic combo with grey.
- A deeper charcoal grey
- Robins egg blue...
