Bridesmaid wont get dress

All of my bridesmaids have bought their dresses but one. The store that they were bought from usually doesn't carry dresses for too long. I selected the dress and asked if everyone could afford them a month ago. Everyone agreed to the dress and to order them. They were only $50 so I thought they were very reasonable. This particular bridesmaid got a speeding ticket of $160 that very week so I kindly offered to buy it for her and hold it until she can pay me back, she said that she will just buy it when she gets paid next. She then goes and buys her boyfriend $150 subs for his car. She gets paid every other week and it has been 5 weeks now. I asked her again last week for the second time if she has got the dress and if not if she'd like me to buy it and hold it for her, she said I am pushy and worry too much and that she will get it when she gets around to it. I texted her again yesterday kindly explaining that she really needs to get this dress before it's out of stock because it just

WOW! That is quite a sexy bridesmaid dress!

I would do what the others said- order it yourself, text her a pic of the receipt, and tell her she owes you. Or accept the fact that you might be out $40. Either way, your girl has the dress.

Actually, I agree with Kate- is your BM comfortable in this dress? It will show every little imperfection. Unless she is a size 4 or VERY confident, she may be feeling weird about this dress.

I'd explain that the dress needs to be ordered no later than the end of the week, and she can either order it or you can. But if goes out of stock then she won't be able to be a bridesmaid because she won't have a dress. And that you really want her to be in your wedding, so you have no problem getting and and having her pay you back.

Please call rather than texting..(if you haven't). that way she can hear your sense of urgency..Plus you can gauge her tone as well to see if she gets defensive or angry, etc. I'd explain as others stated about the dress being on sale/likely to be out of stock. Try to have a heart to heart with her and see what's preventing it (like if she doesn't want to be in the wedding or if she doesn't like the dress). Good luck!
