Bridesmaid robes or shirts?

Which one is more worth it/fun? I've been thinking of doing robes for all 6 of my bridesmaids but thinking in order to save money I should just go with cute t-shirts. Which did you decide to do? Or did you go with something different that you'd like to share?

I got these tanks since it will be hot in June! We're getting ready at the venue so I didn't think robes or pjs were appropriate and they are loose fitting so taking them off without messing up hair/makeup won't be an issue. They do say bride/bridesmaid on them because that's what I wanted for pictures, but they were only $8 each (looks like the price went up since then) so I don't care if they're never worn again.

I got them from Amazon. I then ordered iron-on monograms of the girls' initials from Etsy and ironed them on myself to the front pockets. It was a lot cheaper that way instead of buying them pre-customized!

I agree with a couple PP's that if you definitely want the matchy thing I would get them oversized button downs! So much easier for hair, covers everything, and they would probably all just wear yoga pants on the bottom which would be really cute. I would NOT personalize them. You could even get mismatched shirts.

Adding the iron-on personalization yourself makes so much sense! I will keep this in mind myself.

My vote is robes or oversized button down shirts. If you go with robes, nothing says your girls can't wear other clothing underneath for modesty and their own comfort. Combined with Hanna's advice, this really opens up your options.

If you’re set on a cohesive look, I’d just get whatever is cheapest. They likely won’t get worn ever again.

We are doing button up denim shirts. I was cautioned about the robes not being very forgiving and I don't want anyone to feel uncomfortable. I actually wasn't going to do anything
"matching" but my coordinator recommended it and said the small investment makes for cute getting ready photos, so I decided to get the shirts for everyone. And, a denim button up shirt can definitely be worn again so I felt it was a good purchase.

Getting ready it was my mom, MIL, MoH and myself. My mom bought 4 robes. 2 for the moms was white with the names on left side. MoH and I had blue robes from Oriental Trading. I had dark and MoH was a light blue.

I very much suggest robes over a t-shirt. Having hair and makeup done no way you want to pull anything over your finish hairstyle. 🙁

I opted for the satin PJ set! We're getting reading at a salon instead of the venue and will have a 30 minute drive from the salon, so robes didn't seem quite as practical!
