Bridesmaid issues

3 out of the 4 ladies in the wedding party has not paid for their dress yet. They were on me for several months about when we were going to go dress shopping and when we finally did only my matron went ahead and ordered/paid for her dress. Davids bridal said the dresses would be here by late May but if they needed alterations, it would take 6-8 weeks for that. The wedding is in July and I'm just so annoyed right now because I sent out a reminder to the group and no one has responded.🤔

What would you ladies do in this situatio ? Especially if time runs out?

I think David's Bridal normally gives you the last possible date that the dresses could come, but they often come earlier. We got married in July 2019 and we went shopping for bridesmaids dresses in November 2018. Some of the girls choose to purchase the dress when we went shopping and others choose to wait. The ones that purchased the dress in November were told the dresses would arrive by February 2019. They had their dresses before Christmas. One of my bridesmaids ordered her dress online at the beginning of April 2019 and she received it within 2 weeks. I don't think any of my bridesmaids used David's Bridal to get their dresses altered as they sometimes charge a lot more than other seamstresses. My sister and sister-in-law went to a local seamstress. My other sister-in-law had my mother-in-law hem her dress. Our groomswoman's aunt altered her dress and I'm not sure who altered the other bridesmaid's dress. I left it up to each girl to make sure they got the dress and had it altered for the wedding. It didn't matter to me when it was ordered by or who altered it as long as they had the correct dress and it was altered correctly. Your girls obviously know they need the dress and will have to have it altered. If they don't follow through then they can just be a guest. I can tell you my sister switched dresses a week before the wedding and she had it altered within time so it is possible to have it altered within a short period of time if need be. You've already reminded them so I would just let it go. It is on them now.

I’ve never seen a bridesmaid dress take 6-8 weeks for alterations. They still have plenty of time.

Thanks ladies! It could be the stress from planning. Davids just made it seem like it was now or never snd that they were slammed with orders but then again i guess they have to for the sale. I'll just see how it goes.

Hey Carnysha. Has anyone responded to you yet? Did they go ahead and order the dresses yet?
