Bridesmaid in another state.

One of my very good friends lives in Florida while I live and will be getting married in Maryland. I'd love for her to be a part of my wedding as a bridesmaid but I'm not sure if her being in another state would make that impossible. Did any of you have a bridesmaid that was in another state and did it work out?

I have a BM in Georgia and my wedding is in PA so it's definitely not impossible.

All of mine are in a different state than me except for one. It's up to her to decide if she can travel to your shower/bachelorette/wedding and help plan from afar.

My MoH is my sister, who lives across the country from me. She even surprised me by coming to my bridal shower (didn't think she could). I'd say if you want her there and you're close, ask. She'll be at what she can.

One of my BMs is in Miami and I'm in NY. The only expectation I have is for her to wear the dress and stand up with me during the ceremony.

The people who I plan to ask:

My sister (moh) is in another state and another friend (bm) is in a different state as well. The other one is in the same state, but is in school a few hours away now.

It's about your relationship with them and not the distance.

If they planned to attend your wedding, I'm sure it'll be fine. Let them know you don't have expectations of them being able to attend everything, but want them standing next to you in your wedding day.

I live in an entirely different state than anyone else (besides FH) even invited to the wedding, much less in the BP. This is totally fine. But remember that she is not obligated to do anything except show up to the wedding in the "outfit" you chose.

My MOH is in Tn and I'm in Florida. She's already been down once to join me in dress shopping. She won't be able to attend some things which is ok. I couldn't have my big day without her by my side.

My bridesmaids are all on the west coast: Idaho, California, Nevada,Texas. I'm in NC...

I made a Facebook group where we are planning together. We will meet somewhere not too pricey for a bachelorette trip and then I will see them wedding week. While I'd love to see them daily, they are great friends and amazing BMs so far. They have thrown out ideas and discussed suggestions with me. The FB group made this so easy!

2 in my bridal party are out of state and 2 are in state. It hasn't been a problem at all so far. Especially with FaceTime and Pinterest. We've been able to handle a lot planning despite the distance. I was also MOH for my best friend when I was out of state and it worked out fine. I made it a point to be at the major events like her bridal shower, bachelorette and a few days before the wedding.

None of my BMs are in the state where I am, where I'm getting married, or each other. It's fine, you make it work.

Four of my six BMs are OOT. Just know they will not be able to spend time with you (shopping for dresses etc,) and plan you parties... but that's not why you ask them to be BMs!

4 of mine are in another state. But one is my sister, my niece, and 2 close friends. I guess I just assumed they would be able to come to the wedding. They can all afford it and the travel wasn't an issue.

Nope. As long as she can make it to the wedding, you're fine.

All my bridesmaids live in different states, one of them lives about 4 hours away so she was able to make it to come dress shopping with me for a weekend which was great.

With group chats communication is easy and as long as you guys are all together for the wedding weekend that's really the main thing. But make sure she understands the costs up front.. my bridesmaids have been a little weary of hotel and travel expenses as the planning process has went on.

I flew from VA to WA to be a bridesmaid. I didn't go to a shower or bachelorette party, but I was at the New Years Day wedding with bells on.

She ordered 1920 flapper style dresses, so she only needed my measurements. She shipped the dress out to me to try on, and then I can't remember if I shipped it back to her or just packed it.
