Bridesmaid drop out

Tina, on May 19, 2019 at 10:51 PM Posted in Planning 0 8
One of my bridesmaids texted me today and said they may need to step down from being a bridesmaid. What to do if you don’t have anyone to replace her. Ugh.

I would maybe ask her why and see if there is anything that can be worked out, such as if the cost is too much, etc. If she really needs to drop out, then you have 1 less bridesmaid if you don't have anyone to replace her with.

Don't replace her. Sides dont need to be even andino my opinion that would just seem like your friends are replaceable to you.

Don’t replace her that is sending a bad message to both people. Just have uneven numbers a lot of people do.

I had 7 picks for bridesmaids, but decided I could only deal with 4. I am having lunch with 1 this week to see what ber answer is. If she says no, I'm not replacing her. And we're having uneven sides.
I'm pretty sure the earth won't end as a result.

I can't do uneven numbers. I know most people are ok with that but I couldn't do it. Call me crazy but odd numbers (except 5's) drive me crazy. I know I'm weird. Anyways, if one of my bm's dropped out, and I didn't have a friend to replace her, I'd find someone to ask, relative, future in law, someone. I would make sure my friend knew I wasn't replacing her, just filling in the spot. But all my friends know how I am so they would understand.

Seriously though, ask her why before freaking out. There might be a way you could help out

Same position and unfortunately we are having one of the guys step down as well. Good thing is my FH has already talked to all of the 3 guys and their all good with stepping out if he needs one to. However, now it's up to my FH to decide which one to have step down Smiley sad

You shouldn't replace her anyway. Rude to her, and rude to the person you ask (way to make someone feel like a 2nd rate friend...).

Also, if it's just about $$ I would offer to pay for her stuff.
