Bridesmaid dress color help

Emily, on July 2, 2019 at 9:25 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 10
My bridesmaids are about ready to order their dresses, but I’m second guessing the color. In my mind, I was going to wear a true white dress and the bridesmaid dresses would be a light tan color.

...the dress I actually bought is champagne with an ivory overlay. Although I do love it, I feel like what I love for the bridesmaids doesn’t go at all (picture of my dress and the dress next to bridesmaids dress for reference). A wine color is definitely an option, just not what I had envisioned. The guys will be in navy tuxedoes, so navy dresses is probably out. Thoughts?

I think the BM dresses are too close in color to yours. Wine would look nice. Even a deep purple might look nice.

I think they look great together, but at the end of the day it really depends on how much you want to stand out from your bridesmaids... Wine and navy look amazing together so that’s definitely an option if you prefer. Could you possibly go a bit more gold in your bridesmaid dresses so they do not match the lining as much?

Again I think they look great, but I know some people prefer a greater distinction from their bridal party.

They actually do go well together. You could do the color pop in your boquets.

In my opinion, any vivid color of flowers would look great with this color palette.

I think they compliment each otherSmiley smile

Wine and navy would look good! I also think that navy bridesmaid dresses would look good even with navy tuxedos. My girls are wearing navy dresses next to the groom and groomsmen also in navy and I think it'll look really cool in pictures with me being the one standing out!

I love it if you're looking for neutral colors! I also really like the idea of doing a color pop in the bouquet. I bought a dress similar in color and my bridesmaids will be in dark purple, groomsmen in grey. My bouquet will have long purple ribbon/purple flowers with babys breath/eucalyptus. The bridesmaids will have a tight, not long white ribbon and more white flowers than purple.

I love your gown!! Mine is very similar. Our bridesmaids are wearing Cabernet and my FW’s gown is black (I think!). Wine, eggplant and hunter green all work too... we narrowed it down from those for our fall wedding. When are you getting married? That will help

Oh good!! I’d order swatches and hold them with your dress and see which one speaks to you. Your dress is so beautiful - you really can’t go wrong with any color!

Your dress is gorgeous!!! Why can’t the BMs wear navy like the GMs? Wine is nice too.
