Bridesmaid carrying something other than a bouquet?

I have seen clutches, parasols, 1 large flower, pinwheels, fans...

I am!! I'm allergic to so many different flowers that I didn't bother going that route. Plus I didn't want to do silk flowers. My bridesmaids are carrying clutches.

I really love the parasol idea, but we're inside...though I'd still consider it because it's me and I'm stubborn and don't like to be told I can't do something lol.

Mine plan is to do small rose bouquets (I'm in love with roses and my friend's mom does floral arrangements), but I'm trying to figure out where to cut costs at the moment unfortunately.

A single flower can make a statement and cut costs considerably.

You can also look into paper bouquets (if you're good at DIY) and pinwheels are very cheap (if you're having a whimsical feel).

I've been trying to find something for a while. I've seen on Pinterest where the Bridesmaids carry signs that were made. You could make them yourself or order them. It's just like a square canvas (wood or canvas) and paint it whatever color, then paint words on them. You can personalize them and make them real cute and/or sweet.

My girls carried feather bouquets

I'm making "Story book paper roses" for my girls. I'm a writer and I'm doing kind of a vintage/rustic theme, so all the flowers are going to be made out of classic romance novels (Pride and Prejudice, mostly). And the "petals" for my flower girls are going to be hearts also stamped out of a book. And the best part is it costs about $3 for a used book plus some time :]

I'm actually planning to have my 2 girls carry bouquets, but I'm planning to carry my grandmother's prayerbook. Something like this:

O wow, How awesome. I love this. Although I am pretty traditional and believe in flowers for bouquests I am impressed at the other creative options for bridemaids I especially love the signs board idea on pintrest.

Make a bouquet of small bows. You can accentuate it with pearls or diamond if you want.
