Bridesmaid Boxes, How to Ask Your Bridesmaids...

How has everyone "proposed" to their bridesmaids? I haven't asked mine quite yet, but I'm having so much fun looking at what to include and DIY-ing things. My wedding is 11 months away, so I have time to figure mine out.

I made the attached hangers from IKEA wood hangers (5 for $4.99) and a stamp set. I am testing out adding a bow.

I put together one box so far with Sutter Home wine ($2 each, comes in 4 pack), EOS lip balm ($2.50) a Rifle Paper Co. notebook ($4.32 each, comes in a 3 pack for about $12.95 at Target) and I found Essie nail polish at TJ Maxx or Marshall's ($3.99). The box was $4.99 at Target, I'm looking at places like Michaels or Joann for the rest so they are cheaper and the paper shred was found at the Dollar Tree.

As I said, I'm still figuring out exactly how I will be asking and with what items. I may give the hanger first and then the box closer to the wedding as part of their gift since it may end up costing more money.

I just asked. I'm not about to put pressure on somebody with a gift for something they may not be able to do.

I made sublet hints that I was going to ask. Just in case they didn't want to. I gave one of my bridesmaid a ring and haven't officially asked the other two. I'm probably going to get a teddy bear or something. I like doing bridesmaid proposals because I like making something nonchalant a big deal.

I told my sister she was MOH. Then I asked the others, either in person or over text.

This is my plan, cost is around $10 a girl. The glasses were $1 each, champagne was $7 for 4 which takes it to $1.75 each, the hair ties were $3 each on Etsy, I got a card for $1, and the labels were $12 for a set of 10.

ETA: I made this bag but have not given it to her. This is a very close cousin of mine.

Mine is similar to yours Lauren k. I only have 2 girls so I don't mind to splurge now and a bit later! I've tailored the boxes to match each girl!!

I did something that represented each individual personally. One of my bridesmaids loves writing so I got her a journal and wrote a little note in it and then asked her to be my bridesmaid. I asked my MOH by making a collage of a lot of photos of us together and had typed maid of honor in it then put it in a frame. They both loved it because it fit their personalities so much.

I made this box, but only because my MatOH and I had already discussed her role in my wedding and gotten the teary acceptance without a gift. Later on I decided to do this for her.

I wanna do a little something, nothing expensive. I like doing/making things so this wouldn't be out of the ordinary for me

I was going to ask about people doing this, I'm so glad so many other people just asked! I didn't even know this was a thing until a coworker did it. I've been a bridesmaid 3 times and all 3 times I was just asked. Shit I asked my moh over the phone when I called her to tell her I was engaged!

It's a cute idea though!! I wouldn't go too over the top with it

Now it's not good enough to have one proposal, the bride and groom have to propose with a gift to every member of the potential bridal party. Whoever is in charge of PR for the dark overlords of the Wedding Industrial Complex obviously is a pro at their job. People are hemorrhaging money thanks to all these new must-haves.

I love this idea. I'm working on doing something similar. All of my bridesmaids have already agreed. I think it's important to show them how much you appreciate them being apart of your wedding. Great job!
