Bridesmaid backing out 7days out

She suddenly can’t make it a week out ?? !?

Is everything okay with her? Was this for an emergency? I would be very concerned.

Who knows what is going on her life to make her do this? Ideally she would have given you more notice, but at least she let you know. Did you reach out to her to make sure she is ok?

My cousin had a canelation of the best mad 4 days before the wedding. They found a replacement and had him fitted and out the door with a tux 2 days before. So it worked out. Main thing is that it worked out even with the already made programs that had the wrong name.

Since you found out third hand, did you actually confirm all this with the bridesmaid? Did you check to make sure she's ok?

Don’t replace anyone, that’s so ridiculously rude. I was asked as a back up, and it affected our relationship. No one wants to feel like they’re seconds trying friends. They’re your friends and family, not props.

Unforeseen circumstances happen, it’s not really your place to say her finances couldn’t have changed, or she should have said something. Maybe she was too embarrassed. Maybe there’s more going on than that. Does she live locally, or would she have had to travel?

Continue trying to reach out to her to make sure she’s alright, personally that would be my main concern. Not whether my sides were even.

It sucks, but the best you can do is push forward, and hope she’s alright.

I don’t get why people get so hurt when one is a little concerned with the aesthetic of the wedding they are paying for and planning.... like the whole wedding is based on looks.... color coordinating, decorations, photos.... like uhhhhh hello

I’m too nice? What? I genuinely am not sure what you’re saying towards me. Everyone understands the aesthetics of a wedding, however I personally choose to not treat my friends like interchangeable/replaceable props.. replacing bridesmaids or best man days before the wedding just confuses me. It’s like saying you don’t care about your friendships, just the aesthetics? Those backups/replacements know they were important enough in the first place, and they’re just a stand in for photos..

Our sides are uneven, I could care less. So you get what I’m saying about it, but don’t care... 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

My MOH backed out on me, but thankfully we still have 3 months left! I just dont get how people can be okay with backing put of a wedding
