Brides who have done (and given) boudoir photos...?

AJKNin, on August 13, 2015 at 4:36 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 6

Question for the women who did them and gave them to your significant others (so, I'm assuming this is mainly for the already married ladies)... What was the reaction? Did they actually like them? What did you do with the book after? Do you ever look at it? Do you feel like the money was well spent?

I've been going back and forth on doing it for months now. I think it would be fun. There's a particular photographer whose work I love. It's just that I really don't know whether it's something that my fiance would actually want or have any use for (yeah... yeah... I know... but you understand what I mean, right?). I wouldn't want to do it as a "gift" for him if it really turned out to be more for me.

I haven't done one, but I am looking at booking one shortly. I just posted a thread that I got a spot with a photographer I've been eyeing forever! Why not just ask your FH? I was a little unsure since it's pricey so I asked FH and he's like hell ya I would like that, lol. So, sounds like it will be for him and me Smiley smile

I say, do it for you now, and then decide what you want to use it for! Regardless of how he may feel about it, you'll be thinking about him throughout the shoot, feeling sexy and empowered, so you can still cater to some of the things he likes. Honestly, I loved doing my boudoir shoot so much that I am definitely making it a regular thing from now on.

I just ordered my prints to make a little scrapbook this weekend while FH is away for his bachelor party. I can't wait! I forgot how much I love my shots...it's going to be really hard to choose which to use!

I saw your post - it's actually part of what prompted this one!

I haven't aked him outright because if I did it I'd really want it to be a surprise... I did sort of feel him out about it subtly and got a generally positive reaction. But.. you know.. that's unreliable and not really the same thing as just asking. I also feel like it's hard to know in advance, you know? Like he might think he'd like it but then find he never looks at it again after the day he gets it.

I did it for both him and I-- it was a fun experience.

I gave him the book which he keeps near his night stand and I know that he looks at it, ive caught him looking at it Smiley smile so no regrets here

I'm doing one at the end of the month and I'm curious how the ladies who've done it presented it to their partner – basically, I want to give it to him on the wedding day, but I don't want the groomsmen seeing it.

He looks at them =) and he was super stoked when I gave it to him. I have his book with me at home in our house and some random favorites of his, are with him on the road for work Smiley winking I will say, I know he loves them, but it was a confidence boost for me =)

ETA: I couldn't wait to give it to him. I did it a month before the wedding!
