Brides who have 40 days or less!

Erin, on July 5, 2020 at 10:34 PM Posted in Community Conversations 1 23
How are you feeling? Do you have everything ready to go? Has COVID ruined anything for you?

I’m feeling like I just want to get it over with but I’m nervous about stricter restrictions if COVID cases continue to rise. Or having to postpone/cancel altogether. 40 days doesn’t seem long, but with COVID the uncertainty is killing me. I still need flower girl baskets, petals, and finalize final payments for all vendors. I also have one bridesmaid without a dress still.

I’m August 14th and I’m nervous but I do think we’ll be okay! My shower is this Sunday, after having postponed our wedding once and the shower three times. We have 50 guests for the shower and I hope it will make things feel more real! I still have a lot of miscellaneous items to order for the wedding, as well as most of our final payments due. Keep the faith! We’re gonna get through all of this and hopefully we can enjoy it as much as possible! 💕

2 weeks and it seems like a lot left to do. My FH and I have had to scrap some of the things that we wanted to do, our ring bearer and flower girl backed out at the last minute so we just aren’t having any. We’ve had to scrap the wedding from inside our church to outside because of the phase that WA is currently in. We are still having the reception. We basically are just done and want everything to be over with and just enjoy your life together as husband and wife. We are also hoping to start a family, he’s 47 and I’m 36. Best of luck to you all!

19 days !! And Covid has made me feel like I want to throw the towel in on our 2021 reception because Covid probably isn’t going away 🙃 but I’m going to make the most out of my july ceremony/mini wedding. Getting married on our date was so important to us and I’m so glad we stuck with it !

41 days and we're pretty much decided that we're going to postpone to a year out. There just doesn't seem to be much of a point when none of our family should be traveling - we're in Texas and things are getting pretty bad. So yeah. Covid took our small little wedding and stomped all over it. We still might not get to be married in front of our families anytime soon.

I think you are the one who told me about how bad Texas was getting. I had to reach out to my family in Austin and explain it was ok if they couldn’t come. My heart hurts to think they won’t be there, but I never want to put my family in that position.

Oh yes lol! We married in April and I'm infinitely glad we did. Our families just want to celebrate with us, and it was a huge blow to our moms to have to wait again. But we'd rather wait and they live to talk about it. Hopefully things work out for you guys!

It’s super hard to make a plan and stick to it. I don’t think covid will go anytime soon, so I just stick to my plan. I am planning for a destination vow renewal (first wedding after 23 years elopement) just with our kids. No guest, but traveling to the destination requires extra precautions due to covid and it means extra $$$$!

27 days! We already postponed from June 27. Thankfully, we are one of the few states still declining/holding steady with Covid-19. I’m in a rural area so it’s not much of a concern for our immediate area either. Still, on pins and needles! I can’t wait until it’s all over so I can stop watching the numbers so hard!

We are at 40 days. It is definitely starting to feel real after already moving the date once. We have cut our guest list down to immediate family and wedding party, so I most likely we will be able to have it as planned. Keeping my fingers crossed!

July 18th here. Under 2 weeks away!

Covid-ruined our 150 guest list so we cut back to 50. Also 2 bridesmaids let me know they weren’t coming because of it, and then just a few days ago a 3rd called me up panicked and crying that she can’t come. It was very dramatic On her part and we haven’t talked since. I told her it was all okay but what she said hurt me pretty bad.
We put all the social distancing measures with the ceremony and tables, we have extra masks.
I got my dress altered and trying to loose a few extra pounds. Been busy with all the menu selections and vendor arrangements.
Starting to get excited again, just was so hurt by my one BM and what she said to me about my wedding and COVID.

I am so sorry that happened to you! I wish more people were more understanding of what we are going through. It’s extremely hard on us to decide what to do. Especially if vendors aren’t willing to give back your deposit money.

Thanks! Got my nails done and a pedi so hopefully they stay for next weekend lol. I’ve had people message me on FB last minute saying they weren’t coming even though I already knew they weren’t. Now the catering company said they can’t do full service right now so not sure what is going to happen with that. We are doing the best we can given the circumstances with Covid, everyone wearing masks, sanitizer on hand, etc... I just want to be married at this point.
