Bridemaid dress help!

Jyl, on February 25, 2020 at 11:11 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 15

So my wedding is October 16th, 2020. Two out of my Five bridesmaid's have their dresses. i'm starting to get worried about the other 3 girls and them not even ordering their dresses yet....When should I start to stress to them that they NEED to get their dresses ordered? I do not want to come off as a Bridezilla, but i also do not want them to wait til the last minute!

Your wedding is still a whiles away. I think it’ll be fine unless the place you want it from told you it would take x amount of months to produce

Assuming they know how long the turnaround time is for the dresses, you've done your job. No need to remind adults to take care of their responsibilities.

The site that they will ordering from says the turnaround time is about 3-4 weeks, but you are 100% right about their responsibilities ! Thank you!

Ordering early will be the smartest thing to do. I have ordered a bridesmaid dress for August and it was supposed to be in a few days ago. I read that some wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses may be delayed due to the coronavirus. So the earlier the better, maybe just let them know you are concerned with possible delays. They should understand and get right on it. (:

My wedding is August 2020 and only 1 of my bridesmaids has ordered. Our turnaround time is the same as yours. I've left it up to them to get the dresses whenever it works for them to do so.

It will be ok, my wedding is on Labor Day weekend and I only have 2 girls with dresses. I’m going to tell them by March 5th it needs to be done. Since your wedding is about a month from mine add a month to that timeline and give them a date. Don’t stress!

My wedding is September 5 and all of mine ordered. I would say they need to order ASAP especially because we've all been reading about delays of items from China, even if the dress isn't from china the fabric could be. If you do it in a nice way I'd say you're not being bridezilla. Just say theres going to be a backup delay of dresses so you're really hoping they can order asap! If money is an issue, maybe offer to front the money and pay you back.

My bridesmaids went dress shopping two weeks ago for my May wedding. 3 already have their dresses in. You still have plenty of time

My wedding was in October and my last BM ordered her dress in mid August. It came in with no issues. Just make sure the ordering window doesn't close in before she orders it, but I am sure they are aware and will order in time. You still have several months before you need to be worried.

My wedding is 10/4 when we went looking last September we were told BMs dresses had to be ordered by 5/15 for timely delivery and alterations. On 2/15 when I ordered my wedding dress I was told that my BMs dresses would now have to be ordered by 4/1 d/t materials/dress deliveries being delayed d/t the coronavirus. I would check with the bridal shop/website to confirm delivery times.

Also Labor Day weekend here. None of my BMs have purchased, but they did let me know they’re starting to look. I asked Them to use Azazie and estimated delivery for some of the ones they liked are about 5-6 weeks at most. I’ll probably ask them to at least order one or two to try on pretty soon, though.

My wedding is the weekend before yours, and my bridal consultant said my BMs should order their dress by the end of March. It would be helpful to give them a timeframe of when you need them ordered by. I do think earlier is better, as they will also need fittings. But I think letting them know a date they should have them ordered by would be helpful, if you haven’t already.
