Bride with super sensitive skin- please help

Patricia, on September 3, 2017 at 9:43 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 11

I would like to have my make up professionally done however, my skin is horrible and reacts to everything. I bought MAC photo finish foundation and compact as suggested before my trial and my skin was red and blotchy. Do you know of any makeup I can buy for sensitive that will look okay with photos?? Thank you!

I think you need to ask your dermatologist. Maybe there's something you can put on your face as a foundation before a make-up artist does the work. Ask your make-up artist too. They may also know because they have to deal with all sorts of skins on a daily basis. I'm sure if you hire a good professional they can do trials on you to see how it goes. Good luck.

    Dermatologist, for sure.

Have you tried clinique for sensitive skin? I have rosacea and I react to the stupidest things. Clinique really works well for me.

Unfortunately without knowing the specific ingredient(s) that is/are irritating your skin, it is hard to give suggestions. I agree with pp about seeing a dermatologist.

Please get an allergy test done. I did this and found out my laundry list of allergies. I was able to tell my professional MUA what I was allergic to and she brought only makeup that I could wear. My makeup did not irritate my skin

Clinique works well on my sensitive skin. Make sure you pick a formula without sunscreen or it will look white in pictures. They will give you a little sample at the counter so you can test it out before buying.

I have a friend that is super sensitive....I think she switched to a foundation that doesn't have Talc in it....or you can try CC cream..I personally like those better because it is lighter on my skin. You can go to sephora and ask for samples, they give you a great amount to test! GOOD LUCK!

I go to my dermatologist for hyperhidrosis buuuuuut he sells the brand rms which is supposedly super gentle. I would not risk anything and go to the dermatologist. Bring with you all makeup you've tried that's irritated you along with the ingredients listed. I would also bring any photos of the irritation so that perhaps the doctor can help you figure out what you're allergic to.

If you have a Merle norman store in your town they are GREAT. Go in and just tell them your situation. They will do a free trial "makeover" on you and most of the do free bridal makeup too. They have all kinds of makeup for all kinds of skin. Probably worth a try at least.

I use clinique and they have a range of coverage options. Like others have mentioned get a sample at Ulta or clinique counter.
