Marisa, on August 2, 2016 at 10:57 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 35

What do you guys think? If a bride is in a strapless dress, should the bridesmaids be in a strapless dress orrr if the bride is in a strapless dress, should the bridesmaids be in a dress with straps? Ive looked on pinterest but id love other peoples opinion!

I don't think it matters. Both are pretty. Find a dress that the bridesmaids like regardless of straps I think

I don't think it needs to match that much. That picture is beautiful, but I've been in weddings where the bride isn't strapless and a bridesmaid is. I think it's really just personal preference.

I really think it's up to you.... I would be more about whether the BM dresses are flattering and in the budget of your BMs.

I don't think there is any rule one way or the other. Then again, I am not telling my girls what to wear, gave them a color and said "go for it", so straps or no straps isn't even an issue for me.

That being said, isn't it a little late for you to be shopping for BM dresses if your wedding is a month away?

I don't think it's about the straps. It's really about their body types and comfortability levels. Some people don't like strapless some do.

Both of those photos are beatuiful but out of those two photos I actually like the not matching better. I don't think it really matters though. As PPs mention it's more important to find comfortable and flattering dresses for your bridesmaids than a certain look per se.

I have the convertible maxi A-line dresses for the girls and im in a mermaid style gown. Just trying to think how we should tie them. I want the BM to all look the same just not sure how to have them.

My future husband and I think the attention should be on the BRIDE. Therefore, if you have a strapless dress you want to stand out and have your bridesmaids beautiful but different. So they should where straps that complements your look. We are currently getting married Sept. 24 of this year and I am wearing strapless and my BM are in straps. See pic of there dress below. Hope this helps and congrats !!!

I honestly don't think it matters. Especially since it is becoming more common for bridesmaids' dresses to not even be exactly the same.

I personally like mismatched bridesmaids dresses in which they each get to choose the style that flatters them best. I'm not a fan of the matchy-matchy bridesmaids. And I don't think it matters whether or not the style matches the bride's dresses.

I also think this is one of the those details that the bride and BP will be aware of, but most people watching the ceremony will not notice.

Tamara's post makes no sense. THE BRIDE is not going to get 100% of the attention for the entire day, and the presence of straps on the bridesmaid dresses will have no affect on the amount of attention she gets. That's just silly.

I don't think it makes a difference. My dress has straps and I felt like the bridesmaids should be strapless for my wedding

I don't think it makes any difference. Also I hate strapless dresses and while I would not complain to the bride about it, if a friend asked me to be a bridesmaid and then I had to buy and wear a strapless dress I would be less than thrilled.

Do whatever you want. I've come across the issue of having a couple of busy ladies and a couple of petite ladies in my bridal party and accommodating them (as long as it is my color scheme) is a necessity. I wouldn't want someone popping out of their dress during the reception. Don't be afraid to even mix it up within the bridal party.

I've honestly never thought about it. I'm having my girls get different necklines so everyone e has something they're comfy in.
