Does anyone have any suggestions for a song to dance to with my son at my wedding reception? He is 9, my fiancé and I have been together since he was 1 year old. I think adding a dance for just the two of us would be special since he’s always been a part of the deal

My son will be 10 when my FH and I get married in August and we're doing a mom/son dance too! He's so excited but worried he will cry lol. We are using God gave me you by Blake Shelton because it really fits our relationship and the fact that it was just him and I for so long. We also considered If I didn't have you by Thompson Square and someone suggested mommas song by Carrie Underwood but I haven't listened to that one. I did a lot of googling for songs but we ended up sticking with the Blake Shelton song because he's called that our song forever.

This is awesome! I've been thinking about doing something similar. My son is 7 and I was a single mother before meeting my FH. My son is going to walk me down the aisle and be my Man of Honor so I don't want to overwhelm him with too many "responsibilities" at the wedding. He asked to walk me down the aisle and to stand next to me during the ceremony but I don't want to push too much on him. I really like "Beautiful Boy" by John Lennon and if we do this I think this is the song we will dance to. My FH and I have sang it to him and he always dances while we sing it.

ETA: I just saw someone suggested "If I Didn't Have You" by Thompson Square, that is another front runner for us if we do a mother/son dance. I love that song!
