Bride and Groom Gift Exchange - Help!!!

Hi,

My wedding is a couple weeks away and I keep second guessing myself on if what I got my bride is acceptable for the gift exchange. I purchased a trip to a place we have been wanting to visit, but its not for a few months. Is that acceptable? Or should it be a physical gift? Everything I have found online states the same things, luggage/honeymoon items/photos. She wouldn't enjoy that type of thing.

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

The trip is totally acceptable!! My husband gave me a note on our wedding day, saying he bought us concert tickets as his gift to me. The concert was a couple months after our wedding, and I love that he did that! It doesn't have to be a physical gift by any means. The trip is a great idea!

I think a trip is a beautiful gift! And the fact that it is several months after the wedding will give you both something fun to look forward to after the wedding festivities are all over!

The trip sounds so special. But if you want a physical gift maybe you can get a little something that will give a hint about where you are going or something useful for the trip. For ex if you were going on a cruise you could get a Christmas ornament shaped like a cruise ship and attach a note to it saying pack your bags ..... or you could pick up some cute packing cubes and put a sweet note inside detailing the trip Congrats on your wedding and enjoy the trip!

Of weddings we have attended among family/friends/acquaintances, the couple has never given physical or otherwise gifts outside of the rings, vows and honeymoon. Anything else is unnecessary pressure from the Wedding Industry to make you go into debt.
