Bridal trial vs bridal day of makeup hair

Lt, on September 2, 2022 at 10:35 AM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 8
During the trial for hair and makeup do they use the same products and amount as the day of? Is there any difference between the trial and day of? Does hair and makeup work at the same time?

They should use the same products for the trial and day of. The only reason I would see them not is if there is something you didn't like at the trial, then they will note that and fix it for the day of. Typically hair and makeup are working on different people at the same time. But if it just you then they probably won't work at the same time.

Often times there are subtle differences it can be difficult to get something exactly the same but it should be pretty darn close. Definitely make sure either you or the Mua and hair stylist writes down all the products and shades used and take photos. Also make notes of things you loved and things you d like to tweak. At the end of the day take photos of how well the hair and makeup lasted too. Good luck!

They should use the same products on the day of as they did in the trial. As Rosebud said, be sure to give them feedback on what you liked and didn’t like so that they can make sure your day-of look is what you really want. Whether they work on both hair and makeup at the same time depends on a couple factors - what the artists usually do, how many other people are getting worked on in your group, how much time they have to get you ready, etc. Mine did each separately. They had one woman doing hair and another doing makeup. They had to work on my bridesmaids, mom, and MIL so they couldn’t both work on me at the same time.

My hair stylist didn't use as much product as she will day of, and the reasoning was that she was doing multiple styles so I could determine which one I liked best and too much product wouldn't allow it to be manipulated multiple times. My makeup artist also said day of she'd use more setting products than she did during the trial but all other products were the same.

My makeup was not the same in my trial as day of. During my trial she used regular foundation, but day of my foundation was airbrushed. She also didn’t put on my false lashes during the trial.

That's interesting the changes she made. Did it work out better with the airbrushed makeup then? No one has reported back on this so far. It does seem fair if makeup artist is experienced to make the transition it seems fine to just get the look right at the trial and then go with airbrush for the ceremony.

I requested air brush at the trial. Like you said I think she just wanted to make sure she got the look right during the trial. I didn’t have any issues day of with my make up and didn’t feel like I needed any touch ups. Kind of hard to tell, but here’s the last picture of the night after lots of dancing! I think it still looks fine (pardon my silly face, lol) Bridal trial vs bridal day of makeup hair 1
