Bridal Shower

Christina, on September 8, 2019 at 2:59 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 9
I wasn’t going to have a bridal shower because the only gift we really want is for people to give to our house fund on our registry. We literally don’t need anything. I wasn’t going to have bridal shower but my mother, maid of honor and matron of honor want to give one so Itis goin to happen. What kind of gifts did you ladies get for your bridal shower ?

We got things off our registry. If you aren’t going to make a registry I would suggest a recipe shower or stock the bar shower. Or change it to a bridal luncheon or tea where gifts aren’t required.

I tried to decline a shower but my family insisted. We did a gift card shower because i couldn’t fly with physical gifts and didn’t feel comfortable doing a lingerie shower. Most people brought gift cards or cash, only one person bought something on my registry which was shipped to my apt from Zola. No, I didn’t open money in front of people, just had games and food. After flying back home I opened the cards with my fiancé and sent thank you cards the next day. People enjoyed it and even though I technically have a registry, people preferred the convenience of the gift cards. I used them to buy new bedding and linens.

Mine fell through, so I didn't have one. No one could come (MOH insisted on holding it at her place, 70 miles away), and we thought it would look really stupid to send another invitation to the same people for the same event on a different day, so I just decided to forego the shower.

If you don't have a registry for physical gifts, it is kind of hard to have a shower.

Look around your apt/home and see what you want to upgrade. We have lived together for awhile, so we took a week and consciously thought about things we wanted to upgrade that we use all the time - towels, dinnerware, serving utensils, etc. Good luck!

I registered because we do not live together yet, I would suggest for you to set up like a honey fund or something and have a cute poem written on the invitation they actually have so many now that basically say you have all that you need but the money in the fund is much appreciated

I would do a small physical gift registry if you want a bridal shower.
