So as the time comes for my ladies and I to plan my bridal show I am faced with a dilemma. I have only been to 3 bridal showers in my lifetime. One was a traditional one where she registered and I bought her a set of towels. The other two the girls and the mothers sold "tickets" so you had the choice to either bring a gift, or purchase a ticket which would count as your gift. You then went and there were the usual lunch and games and such. I am not sure how I feel about the ticket thing..... but we really don't need gifts at all. We both had full households of stuff before moving in together and I have been donating and throwing things out for the past 2 months trying to get everything to fit into our small house!! lol

So not sure, what do you guys think? Honesty please, but don't bite my head off, I'm just sharing this idea since I have been to a couple. lol

Hmmmm...I don't know if I would be " offended" I mean...obviously depending on how much you are charging for the tix, people would be shelling out money for a present anyways, right? But on the flip side, if you don't need anything, why not have just an engagement party and just wait for the wedding to receive monetary gifts? If you really want a " shower" I think the idea of just a ladies social is a great idea....where you can swap recipes and advice etc....I was going to skip a shower altogether because I don't need anything from a registry either and a lot of people are already traveling for my wedding, but I might see if someone wants to throw me a social lol

    Honey moon registry?

Also, have you gone and looked around in Bed Bath and Beyond, Pottery Barn, ect.? There's absolutely nothing at all you want kitchen gadget wise? Just saying they have some cool things out there for party throwing and such.

My sister is handling my shower. All she has told me about is the theme. I gave her the guest list and she is taking care of everything with the help of my 2 other bridesmaids. Other than that, I really do not want to know anything about it! I would rather be surprised! Smiley smile However, the ticket thing does sound a bit... different. I haven't ever really heard of it. I recently gave a shower for my friend and her and her now husband have been living together for the past 3 years so they didn't need anything either. She wanted me to ask everyone to contribute money to the honeymoon. I didn't want to do that because I think it is tacky, but if it's something that is accepted in your area, go for it. Smiley smile
