Bridal shower speech

Did anyone make a little speech or toast at their shower just to thank everyone for coming and all the planning that went into it? I was thinking of doing so while we are eating or maybe after gifts... Thoughts?

At every shower I've attended, the bride has thanked the guests for their gifts individually as she opened them, then thanked everyone for their attendance when she was finished with gifts.

That's a good idea. Or also If you're opening gifts too maybe after youre done opening them you can just say thank you so much everyone for the gifts and for attending, etc etc

I never heard of a thank you speech personally. I said thank you to people as I opened gifts and wrote thank you cards. I can see why this may happen if you have a display shower.

We did a thank you to each guest as we opened gifts, then when finished we thanked the whole room and "spotlighted" the hosts.

I thanked each guest as I opened their gift and then at the end gave a little thank you speech along with some details about our wedding.

I was wondering the same thing since mine is coming up, I like what the PPs have suggested... I too am also nervous to be the center of attention haha
