Just wondering- does the bride typically get an invite mailed to her for the bridal shower?Obviously it's assumed she will be there since she's the guest of honor, but isn't just kind of a nice thing to do and mail her one also? The reason I ask is that my sister mailed out invites last week (she and my best friend are co-hosting), and the only way I found out that invites were sent was today at work when my coworker told me she got hers in the mail over the weekend. My sister mailed one to the co-host and my mom, but not me. I am a little surprised my sister didn't send one to me, but maybe I'm over-reacting?

My mom asked my sister about it and my sister just said: "I figured she could just look at yours."

I've never known a bride to get an invitation to her own shower; usually the host(s) are responsible for making sure she gets there on time.

My mom saved an invitation set for me, though (un-mailed) for a keepsake. She gave it to me after the fact, so I could save it with all the cards and memories from the shower and wedding.

My MOH sent me one. I would probably have thought it was weird if I didn't get one.

Most brides would want an invitation as a keepsake. If your sister didn't have any extras, ask your mom to keep hers so you can have it. But no, I did not get mailed my bridal shower invitation. My bridal shower hostess included one with my gift so I could have one as a keepsake but I didn't need an invitation since it was a party in my honor!

It may have just slipped her mind, since you are the guest of honor, obviously you'll be there.

I would have suggested that they may wanted to keep something a surprise, we did that for a friends shower that I helped host, but it sounds like maybe not since she said you could look at your moms.
