Bridal shower invite help

Shannon, on December 16, 2019 at 3:50 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 3

We are having a small destination wedding with an informal reception to follow once we return home. My mother is throwing me a bridal shower the month before we leave and she would like to include guests that were not invited/unable to afford to attend the ceremony itself. (I am not looking for opinions on this-I cannot change her mind-I've tried. I do want the bridal shower too. So with all of that being said- On the details card in the invites for the shower we need some way to say "reception invite to follow". How should we word this? Any creative sayings we could include? Google is failing me.

Thanks in advance.

If "reception to follow" is referring to the reception after the wedding when you return home, I wouldn't include it on your bridal shower invites. Most people will assume that if they've received the bridal shower invite, they'll be receiving a wedding (or in this case just reception) invite to follow.

The two events (shower and your wedding reception) are technically not connected. You'll have to send invites for your reception out separately to those who are invited. No need to mention it for the shower invite!
