Stick with the registry

I have never been to a shower where people gave lingerie or more risqué gifts. I'd assume at an afternoon shower with her family present it would be extremely awkward to bring something like that. Just get her a gift from her registry, that's what it's for.

Every shower I've been to people buy things from the registry. That's why it's there.

I would stick to her registry, I've never been to a shower that people bought anything penis shaped. That is usually saved for the bachelorette party.

A safe bet is to either get a gift from the registry or a gift card for Bed Bath and Beyond or Home Depot.

Bridal showers are for registry gifts unless the invitation actually specifies something different like "lingerie shower". Just stick to the registry.

Thanks guys! I don't know what bridal showers I've been attending but at least a few of them had been full of penises and lingerie! I will play it safe with the registry gift. Maybe get her something extra just for her like a bath and body works GC in case it ends up being lingerie or something.

As others said the sexy gifts are for a bachelorette party. If you didn't want to do a registry item, you could always get her something they could use on their honeymoon or something monogrammed with her new initials. I also like to give an "our first married Christmas" ornament - I think it's just a unique gift.

Wtf do you know a lot of strippers and porn stars getting married ?? Where do u live I've never once seen a dick at any shower EVER !!! Don't get her a bath and body gift card it's not her 13th birthday get her the stuff on registry or give her money she doesn't need shower gel

@gorgame, as I previously stated, I will be getting her something from the registry. Also, I live in Nebraska which is a fairly conservative state and no, I don't know a lot of strippers or porn stars (since we are running around with the "wtf's") I will say wtf is your problem, just because you haven't seen them, doesn't mean they do not exist. I have seen showers with and without sexy gifts.

I would definitely stick with the registry. I think if they wanted you to do lingerie they would have told you that was the theme. I have never been to one like that. I feel like it would be less embarrassing to get her a coffee maker while some people got her lingerie than it would be to get her lingerie in front of the whole family when no one else does.

I have heard of a "lingerie shower". But if no one told you that was what was going on I would definitely stick with registry. Or I agree put in a Victoria's Secret gift card.

I've been to showers where people brought gifts and a few friends and I got the bride lingerie and it was fine. However, we knew the bride and her family extremely well so it was well received on all accounts. But if you're not that close/don't know a lot of people stick to the registry, no one will be offended by a toaster.

I wonder of it is geographical, I'm from WI and I remember shopping with my mom for robes or classy nighties for my older cousin's bridal showers. Some People would get registry items and some would get lingerie.
