Bridal shower games and prizes question...

Future Mrs. S, on May 7, 2012 at 1:23 PM Posted in Planning 0 18

We are looking for suggestions on games for the bridal shower. I was also wondering what some good prizes were for the guests. Most showers I've been to, have had Bath & Body Works or Victoria Secret lotions. Just looking for some other ideas please Smiley smile

I went to one that had a fun game, everyone puts in their celebrity crush with their name and the MOH read the crushs out loud and the bride had three chances to guess who had that crush. everyone who didnt get their crush guessed got a prize i think. and candles/lotions/gift cards are always good, its things most likley everyone will like.

We did the word scramble, clothes pin game, do you have it ( in your purse) and how well do you know the bride and groom.... The prizes were candles with lotions and flower seeds in this cute lil pail that my cousin found.

Depending on your guests, at my baby shower( LOL) we did a lot of wine related items.. bottle of wine, coasters, those little charms that go on the glass. Gift cards would be good, to local coffee shops or a movie. Maybe jewelery?

We bought cheap toilette paper and divided into groups, and whoever could make the best toilette paper wedding dress wonSmiley smile. Everyone loved it and the "models" looked wonderful, they got pretty creative!

My bridesmaids threw together a toilet paper dress competition. Each table picked a model and had a pack of toilet paper to make a dress. They had 10 mins and after that, they came into the room one by one as a fashion show and I picked the winner. Everyone had a lot of fun and its a great ice breaker for people who don't know eachother

For mine my FMIL made little form with my first and last name and FH's first and last name, and people got like 10 minutes to come up with as many words as possible using the letters in our names. People got a point for each letter in the word, so a 5 letter word is worth more then a 3 letter word.

We didn't really do prizes, but there where literally only a handful of us at the wedding, including me.

At my friends they did bath and body works foaming soap.

My moh had each of the bm and my mom and step mom make a basket and each guest gets a few tickets upon arrival and then they get tickets for winning games, and we are going to do a chinese auction of sorts. the games are bridal bingo, guess the spice( grind up a few spices and have the guests try to guess what it is person who guesses the most correctly wins), a memory game(she is going to attach kitchen items like spoons spatulas, measuring cups etc onto an apron and have me wlak around with it, have the guest remember as many items person who remembers the most wins), candy in shot glasses( guess how many get the glass and tickets for the baskets) and then were going to make teams and have the guests create a dress out of TP and I get to judge and the most creative wins!

My MOH is doing the gifts and decor on her own so between a parttime job, school and three kids she didn't have a lot to spend. She went to The Dollar Tree and made baskets up.

    Bath basket-

    scrub mit

    loofa

    hair towel

bath confeti (from Michaels on clearance for 30 cents!)

bottle of body scrub (I've used it and it's awesome for a buck)

    candle

    Garden "basket"-

    large flower pot

    garden gloves

    garden tools

garden tile (with a cute saying on it)

    flower seeds

    Scent basket-

    candle

    glass candle holder

    oil defuser and oil

potpourri (everything is a vanilla scent)

and then three stationary sets for the group who wins the toilet paper dress game. These were from Michaels

    Games we're doing are

    Gift bingo

    toilet paper dress

    what's in your purse

how well do you know the bride and groom

Oh and the "door prize" is a $30 wal mart gift card. We're having everyone fill out their name and address on my thank you envelopes and I'll pick one out of a basket/hat. Whoever I pick gets the door prize.

Cyndi- That is a great way to avoid having to write out all the addresses yourself, good thinking! lol
