Hi everyone!

So not only am I planning my own wedding, but I'm a bridesmaid in my friend's wedding July! We are planning her shower for early May and need some ideas on cute (not corny) games/activities and the general order of how things should flow.

I've only ever been involved with one other shower previously and the mother and aunts of the bride took care of most of it.

Her theme is royal blue and sunflowers if it matters.

My sister threw me a stellar shower.
She did enough games and inbetween games I'd open like 8 presents, thus not making a borring 2 hrs of opening presents it was nice and fun and not borring.

The best game was the toilet paper wedding dress game, everyone Old and younger had fun with it.

At the most recent shower that wasn't mine, they did a Newlywed style game, the MOH recorded an "interview" with the groom and would ask the bride the question, pausing the interview before he answered to see if they matched.

They also did a bridal bingo during the opening of presents (so you'd mark if she got the blender, or the plates, etc.)

At our shower, we did the Newlywed game, but we also had HILARIOUS mad libs!! That's another activity that is fun and a great keepsake.

I've heard of/done the bingo and newlywed type game - we didn't record his answers though, we just contacted him and he emailed us the answers, a recording could be hysterical though...hmmm. And the mad-libs sound fun! Thanks.

Our friends just had a shower for our daughter. They had an ice breaker guess how many kisses the bride gives her FH daily and had a jar of kisses as the prize. They played two games, ate and played two more games and then opened gifts.
Wedding dress game
Bring the bride out with 21 things on a tray. Then tell the people they have 1 minute to look at the things on the tray. Then send the bride away and say, now what was the bride wearing. It is really funny.
Left right left right. They tell a story about the bride and say she left the church and turned right. It is like hot potato with a ball. when it ends that person wins.
Then they played the game think like the bride and the person who knew the bride best won.

@MJ I like the "how many kisses" game, that sounds so cute and original!

The left-right-left-right game is fun too.
Purse scavenger hunt - you get different points for different things you happen to have in your purse.
How old was she? - bring several pictures of the bride at different ages, and people have to guess what age she was when the photo was taken. It's fun to get to see the bride when she was younger (if you didn't know here then).
