Bridal shower attire... white or not?

I always assumed the bride-to-be wears white at their bridal shower. I found a white (ivory, really) dress I want to wear - and when I showed my mom, she innocently asked me why I planned on wearing white. I always assumed the bride-to-be wears white at their bridal shower. I found a white (ivory, really) dress I want to wear - and when I showed my mom, she innocently asked me why I planned on wearing white.

I guess I just always assumed that would be the case... but now I'm questioning that. I like the idea of wearing white, because I'll (probably?) be the only one wearing that color... and since I rarely wear all white, and it's obviously bridal looking, it seems appropriate.

So my question to you ladies is... did you wear, or do you plan on wearing, white to your shower? If no, then what color?

I would wear whatever makes you feel great! I am wearing white. How many times in my life will I ever have a reason for a white dress?! Smiley smile These are my top choices for my shower dress. One of the others I will wear to the rehearsal.

I was thinking about this too! I think I'm just going to try and find a dress that I would be able to wear on my honeymoon as well! If it's white, so be it Smiley smile.

I am not wearing white, only because I want to get myself a nice dress I can wear again, and I won't wear a white dress again. I also just ordered a navy dress for my rehearsal.

I'm not sure yet. I might wear white, I might wear floral or I might go with the neon yellow lace dress I just bought....

But its definitely not weird to wear white.

I wore white to mine because why not? And also because I have loved little white dresses forever!

I thought about wearing white to mine, but after shopping I came to the conclusion it wasn't for me. White doesn't look good on me and I wanted to look good at my shower so I ended up wearing something I already owned that I love and it was my favorite standby color...black. My wedding (and shower colors) are black and red so it fit with my colors anyway.

Lots of people wear white for their own shower. I was planning to get a white dress from rent the runway but I found a navy and coral dress i loved at Dress Barn, which happens to be my wedding colors, and I decided to get that instead.

I've never noticed this. But I acquired white-ish (more ivory) dresses for engagement pics - I may as well rock one for the shower and one for the rehearsal.

I'm wearing pale yellow for my shower because I love it so much and it's one of our wedding colors. Also, I wanted a pretty spring color since my shower is in April. I am wearing white for bachelorette festivities and rehearsal dinner.

I too plan to wear white. There are so many.. It's hard to find the right one! Every shower I've been to the bride seems to be in a light color.. White, ivory, champagne etc..

I didn't at my first shower, and did at my second. Don't stress yourself out over findings the perfect white dress, but if you already have one you love you should wear it!

I won't be wearing white. I plan to wear white. I want to wear something more vibrant. I also want something I'm likely to get enough wear out of.
