Bridal shower and baby shower?

They are distinctly different showers for very different reasons. It's only the timing that has them fall in the same year for you. I've known people where it was the other way around. They had a wedding shower, got pregnant just before or very soon after the wedding, and then had a baby shower within the same year because that is just how it played out. I might be wrong but I don't see the issue with it.

As long as they're on different days I don't think it's tacky. They'll probably be spaced out by at least 6 months anyway. It's not your fault you have two exciting things happening close together!

My cousin had a bridal shower in June for thier July nuptials - and had their baby in November. I was sad she refused a baby shower and sent her all the baby things anyway. She didn't register even. Our family celebrates new members by marriage or birth.
