Bridal Registry, Inc.

Thomas, on March 12, 2013 at 7:13 AM Posted in Community Conversations 2 24

My Fiance just got a call from Bridal Registry, Inc., yesterday - any information regarding this company?

They're stating she won 3 prizes, some cook ware (I think), vouchers totaling $1,000 for various food stores/cook ware stores and then a 3 day/2 night trip to a bunch of destinations both inside and outside of the states. Do I beleive any of this? No. Will I end up having to go to it, most likely (ha).

Seems entire like a scam, or at least there is a catch (per any "free" give-away). I did notice that for the all-inclusive trip there is a specific hotel chain you have to go through, and you are required to pay any taxes on your 3 day/2night stay...well the cheapest room these hotels have is $999.99 PER NIGHT.

Just wanted to see if anyone has experienced dealing with Bridal Registry, Inc. before I get dragged to an hour presentation tonight at 8:30pm (the timing alone is fishy to me).

Thanks for any info!

I've gotten stuff that like in the mail before but not from a Bridal company.. they were "cruise/vaction vouchers" where the taxes ended up costing as much as the trip lol. That's how they get u... "this room is worth $5k but u only have to pay taxes! ..................which is $4998" Mayb this one is legit?

I just got a call from them and called them back. The women was a bit rude saying I'd be ahppy to give your "gift" to someone else once I started asking questions...

from past reviews it seems like they offer you vouchers for a vacation but you have to pay airfare and taxes...and the taxes end up costing almost as much as the actual cost of the trip. but there are many mixed reviews so who knows

As for picking up the voucher the woman said you would be at the Wyndam in Gaithersburg for 1 1/2 listenign to a guy talk about a bunch of products...I find it shocking the wyndam is supportive of this...after the "talk" they give you the voucher.

If you decide to go please post! I'd love to hear how it turns out!

We decided to pass seeing as how the "presentation" was not until 830 with the potential of being out late and having to be up for work early we thought it best to not even bother.

I didn't want to go there, be displeased and get up and walk out after 20 minutes. Not worth the gas! Ha.

Thanks for everyone's comments! Good luck to any if you who decide to check it out!

I also just received this call.....I'm always skeptical about these things & want to know if anyone was actually attended. I tried calling the person who called me back but the number was wrong which raised more questions and suspicion. Any new input would be nice. Thx

FH n I went to that I think n February. Dey gave us only 2 prizes n a discount thingy. We haven't really looked into the gifts yet. But plan to. We got a choice between an all-inclusive vacation outside the states or inside the states but only the hotel wz paid for, also, free tungsten carbide wedding bands. So, we picked the all-inclusive and rings but haven't done anything about it at this point...

The JVL Rings are a great gift. Did not have to purchase a thing.

Did you register with David's Bridal? That seems to be the common factor in all of these calls. I sat through the presentation, which was informative and interesting, but then saw the prices for their products starting at $2,000 and we opted out. You still get the incentives (wedding bands or a 3 night trip) but you have to pay airfare and taxes. Some others have said it's not worth it. We haven't cashed in ours, since we just got them last week. I have read a lot about the company in reviews over the past several days and the majority of them are negative. I checked out the BBB and got an even more negative response: http://www.bbb.org/new-york-city/Business-Reviews/cooking-utensils/chefworld-inc-in-monroe-ny-116606

If you are interested in the wedding bands (it's a small selection that they offer, but seems to be good for the guys), go to retailmenot.com and get a promo code for a free band without sitting through the presentation.

Vicky from Bridal Registry just called me from 845-395-0451. She introduced herself and went on saying that I won a gift from an entry that was made when I signed up for some bridal magazine. Mind you, I have not registered nor am receiving any bridal magazines. As she went on telling me what my gift was and how to get it, I got that "too good to be true" feeling and now after reading this forum it wouldn't have been worth it for me and I'm GLAD I turned it down.

If you are looking to go to this presentation just to get the free gifts, don't waste your time. It is a complete scam. We were emailed an invitaion and had no idea what this was. We decided to go because, hey, who doesn't like free stuff. We sat through the presentation and to be honest, the presenter Jerry was a funny and likable guy. When we told him we did not want to buy the product he was plain rude. He gave us the coupon card for the free vacation and even threw in the card for the free rings, how nice! Except when we got home and tried to register for the free hotel room, it said someone had already registered using the same coupon code. So I am sure the pots and pans are a great buy, but again, if you are planning on going just to get the free hotel room, don't waste your time.

I got this call just a couple minutes ago! I put my name in for a couple prizes at the local bridal show and I was seriously stoked when I got this call. I see now that it's not that it's a scam, but it's not really worth anyone's time. Sucks Smiley tongue

I had recieved this phone call from Bridal Registry, which my fiance and i had went to the presentation (which only lasted 30 minutes and there was another couple there). Now after reading so many negative comments, we aren't so sure if we would cash in the trip even though it would be nice. Yes, I have read all the good comments on their websites but I would like to know if anyone that has used Bridal Registry or Odenza(the company through the vacation packages) had a good experience? I understand about the 100 dollar deposit (which is refundable) since most hotels do ask for one.

I received the call from Bridal Registry and my fiancé and I attended the seminar. The presentation was great but, it was long and rushed at the end. We did order and was approved. However, the customer service was extremely rude and un professional in regards to providing information to obtain the merchandise. So we canceled. We never received any merchandise and they kept our $150.00. I will never fall for that again. any company that does not display a contact number on their site I should have known would have poor customer service.

I received a email from them, so I decided to sign up and go. Why not, what do I have to lose.. LOL So I received the confirmation email saying the time, place and our names (mine and my fiance). My fiance called and told me he would not be back in time to go, so I asked my grandmother to go, she told me I better call them and make sure thats ok. So I did, and I explained that my fiance was out of state and wasn't going to make it back, they asked me if my parents could go or if his parents could go, I explained that both my parents passed away and his mother passed away and his father wasn't really interested in going. All I wanted was for my grandmother to go, they told me no, and there was nothing I could say! I was so mad! I emailed the company and explained the situation... The next day I get a call from the VP and he told me I did not have to go and they were sending me out everything, the certificate for the rings, both trip packages, a voucher for 2 personalized champagne glasses and something else... I guess well see what happen!!!

I just went to a seminar and had s great experience. If you've ever used Pampered Chef or another marketing company like that it's exactly the same. We purchased the cookware (we were going to register for cookware anyway) and it's actually a great value. Think for yourselves ladies!! It's certainly a marketing company but it's not a scam.
