Bridal Party Reception Entrance

We're planning on having the dance floor in the barn at our venue so when people come down from cocktail hour the barn doors will be closed. Our bridal party members will be announced and walk out the side entrance (to the song of their choosing) and line up in front of the main doors. Then when everyone's out they'll pull open the barn doors revealing us and the dance floor.

Following! I haven't figured out how I want to do this yet.

We aren't having our bridal party introduced, just us. We are walking in, in customized Red Sox jerseys to a song they play at all their games when they win. This was my FH's idea but we have both been Red Sox fans since childhood and it's part of what bonded us as friends in high school so I loved it. Also, we live in CT so the Red Sox/Yankees rivalry is HUGE and our family and friends are split so I think it'll be really funny.

Please just make sure you're bridal party is comfortable with this. It is my absolute least favorite part of being in a wedding. I feel like an idiot and dont' know lots of people - dancing in with another relative stranger is just the worst. Your bridal party does not need to be announced.

Yes, that's a given. Definitely not making them dance together either.

My bridal party is going to be introduce to Queen - Crazy Little Thing Called Love.
But my parents are going to introduce and do the mummers strut (I live in a suburb of Philadelphia, and the mummers - New Years tradition, is very much ingrain in my family's past).

Do you guys have some kind of theme? Some shared hobbies, interests? A favorite movie/show?

I haven't put much thought into it yet. I'll probably have one song playing and have the bridal party come in first, and try to time it so we come in during the chorus. Or maybe just play something pretty and instrumental.

We haven't thought toooo much into this yet but did start talking about it the other day. We just linked our bridesmaids and groomsmen together and are letting them choose how they enter and what song they want! We will get announced after them. Our wedding party is all so different that we wanted to let them be as creative as they wanted, they were excited to get to choose.

I agree with this. While it probably is my least favorite part of being a bridesmaid especially if I don't know my partner. Getting to choose a song makes it a little more bearable, but I am certainly not that go-getter that plans a super coordinated dance lol

Oh my either! lol we don't care if they do something like a dance of just walk in so that has made planning it pretty easy.
