Bridal Party gifts

Stephanie, on April 22, 2019 at 11:24 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 12
Hello ladies! What is the appropriate amount to spend on bridesmaids gifts? I don't want to spend too little (these ladies are traveling in from out of state to be here and buying their own dresses/shoes), but also we don't have an unlimited budget. Right now I am at about $40 per bridesmaid (personalized shoulder bag, personalized hanger for bridesmaids dress, makeup bag saying bridesmaid, earrings/necklace, and a pashmina in case it gets chilly). Is that enough? I was also possibly looking at robes for the big day which would add another $10 per bridesmaid. I don't want to be too crazy! Any thoughts?

I think that’s plenty, very generous! I did more ‘small things’ for asking them to be a bridesmaid. Sheet mask, bath bomb, pretty diamond pen, a pair of bridesmaids custom socks, and hair ties off Etsy. And will give a couple things like robes, tote bag, flip flops, etc at the rehearsal dinner. You can only do so much, they should be thankful for any gift that they get!

I don’t think there is a appropriate amount. I am getting mine a engraved compact mirror, a silver scarf, a cute thing of chapstick that says bridesmaids and foot and hand sheet mask think I spent like 20 or 30 per girl.

You have plenty! I'm just doing personalized robes and slippers (we all have OCD about stepping on other people's floor)

There's no set appropriate amount. I think it just varies based on each person's budget. It sounds like you have plenty of stuff for them, so I wouldn't worry about the dollar amount spent!

I think what you have is great! I think it is whatever you can afford and to be honest, the gift is a great gesture but I am sure they don't expect anything!

It's different for every bride & budget. I've been in two weddings, one spent $5 on a robe and the other $20 on a watch. I'm spending $140 per girl on hair and makeup, and another $100 on gifts. I spent $20 for proposal gifts per girl, then another $20 for bachelorette gifts in addition to a dinner and all the groceries at my bachelorette. Your gifts sound very sweet as they are. If you want the robe, I think it's fine to throw in!

Etsy for the hangers, bags, and pashminas. Amazon for jewelry and makeup bags. I'm a bargain shopper!

Hi Stephanie! I personally feel like this is a generous gift amount! Did you end up adding the robes? Or did you stick with what you have already?

Hi! I did break down and get the robes, mainly because I thought they were cute and it would make for a cute picture of us all together getting ready. You really can find some bargain deals on Etsy and Amazon. Plus I figure I'm only doing this once so why not?!

I'm sure they are going to love and appreciate them!

They will also look really cute for photos of you all getting ready Smiley smile
