Bridal Party Getting Ready Outfits

I have my photographer for some of the time that we are getting ready, so I want to get "getting ready" photos. The thing is, our gifts for our wedding party are already pretty pricey in addition to the things we're getting them to wear for the actual day. From robes (which to be honest, I don't even love) to monogrammed flannels (which are HARD to find in purple), I cannot find reasonable deals anywhere, and I can't justify spending an additional $30.00/person after everything else (well over $50/person in gifts). So my question is: anybody have "getting ready" shots where the bridal party DOESN'T match? Did you tell your girls to try to wear a specific color? Did you tell them to just all go with a certain style? Are you planning on getting "getting ready" pictures but aren't planning on providing matching outfits? Are there good deals out there and I'm just looking in the wrong place? Am I being way too crazy about this?? Pinterest pictures of bridal parties have me obsessing over this. Help please!

I would also check out amazon. I got button down loose fitting short shelve shirts for my girls and I (beach wedding so flannel is no go for me). Each was $11. Nothing fancy but should look cute for pics

Yes I think I am going to ask all girls to wear the same color button up and black exercise shorts. I can’t justify spending $30/person on an outfit they may not ever wear again.

Looks like price went up, but still on cheaper side. Only negative about these is they look a bit like pajamas in person but they are still cute and very comfy Smiley smile

If you really want to go the robe option.... ROBEMART! I found a purple on there for $13.99 in the waffle weave. I also wanted robes for my bridesmaid but didn't want to spend more than $15, and bridesmaids wanted waffle weave not satin-- I've been watching robe mart for a year and their waffle weave finally went on sale (and still are)!

A lot of my bridesmaids are heavier so I told them if they'd feel more comfortable THEY could buy a pair of black leggings to wear under it. These robes are great quality, not too heavy but not thin and feel fantastic!

Have your BP wear whatever they're comfortable getting ready and having their photos taken in. Matching getting ready outfits just recently became a trend and people dealt just fine without them before. If you're truly worried about the pictures, just ask them to wear a certain color or give them guidelines, like a purple shirt and leggings. I personally like the look of everyone in pajamas.

My bridal party and I had robes that I got from Walmart for $9 and I had our initials embroidered on them. The getting ready pictures turned out soooooo pretty and they loved their robes and couldn’t believe I got them from Walmart because they looked expensive. I didn’t get the silk robes, I wanted to get robes they could wear often and were comfortable and they absolutely adored them. I also bought bags with their initials on them.

I've seen lots of getting ready shots where the bridal party doesn't match, and it still looks fine.

Before Pinterest was a thing, I doubt people matched!!! One of my friends posted her getting ready photos and it took me quite a while to realize they weren't matching cause I was focused on what the picture was of, not what people were wearing!

I just let my bridal party wear whatever. We took pictures getting ready. None with a group of us all together, but definitely pictures of them helping me get on my wedding dress and us just hanging around. I wasn't concerned with having everything match in my pictures, so if that's not a priority for you, I think letting them wear whatever is fine. Asking them if they have a white button down with jeans or something like that may be an easy option for matching if you do want that in your photos. Here's a shot of what it looked like.

I am not going to worry about it! I just want them to wear what is comfortable for them. I know that there is a good chance I am going to wear my storm trooper oneise!!

I found nice robes on amazon that are longer in length and sleeves are not long, they hit right above the elbow for a reasonable price. I think I paid 13.99 for each and they have the tie inside to keep it closed. My colors are purple and grey, so I got my bridesmaids a silver grey color and mine is dark purple. Try typing this in the search and see what you think. I got them the other day and like them.

I got my robes on Amazon for I think 13.99 or 14.99. I like them and the style I got came in lots of colors. Has the tie inside to keep it closed. My girls liked them too. Try searching this and see what you think:

There’s other ways to match without having to buy things and spend additional money. You can easily ask everyone to wear the same color top with leggings or something like that. That’s what I’m considering doing with my girls.
